It's like when you meet somebody for the first time... I mean, you don't really expect much from them at first. Then as you go on, and you see them, and talk to them on a regular basis, its not until the end that you realize how much of an impact that that person has made on you. Like, they've affected you so much that you're not really sure whether you can go back to the person you were before! I mean, it's really weird.
You see them do the littlest things, and to the others, the actions don't really mean much. But to you, it feels like what they did changed you, almost. Like it had some kind of effect. Then when you sit down to talk to them, and you listen to what they say, their words tend to give you some sort of fascination. You're like, "They are so cool!" And then they are. You become friends, or have some form of friendship with them that you know could go well.
Especially when you look up to somebody. When you were younger, there was always somebody older that you wanted to grow up to be. Whatever they did was just IT, and then you'd follow them, and annoy them, but despite everything you knew that they could do no wrong.
Unfortunately for me, all of my role models in the past tended to be a little more than unexpected. To me, they were just so cool, and when I was near them I'd feel all weird and nervous-like, like I knew that they were thinking something bad about me, and I tried really hard to make them like me. Almost like how when there's that little group of kids in school that you just wanted to be a part of, and when you're around them you feel all self-conscious and stuff. Yeah, I felt like that. Anyways, what I'm trying to say is I never really had anybody to look up to, or talk to. I ended up becoming my own person, my values derived from morals taught by various teachers. And then I'd talk to my friends or wrote all my thoughts in a journal.
Going back to what I was saying at the beginning, and this being the last day of school, I would just like to say that there were a lot of people this year that have made a major influence on me. I have learned many things from them this year, that now have become part of who I am. I will not forget any of you; you know who you are.
