| The Junkpile DVD was compiled in June 2006, as it was assumed there would be no more big piles of trash to see crushed. But that wasn't entirely the case. This spring, once again a large quantity of old appliances had accumulated and had to be disposed of, and so once again the big pile was formed by the curb. It was just over half the size of the 2006 pile (which currently holds the record), but was still impressive enough to get some attention. Unfortunately, the attention was the wrong kind. Numerous young (but old enough to know better) hoodlums laid waste to the pile like never before; many large appliances were pulled from the pile and thrown from nearby bridges (or smashed on local roads), others simply picked it over looking for good stuff (there was none, of course), and one person even rammed the pile with his SUV!. I eventually gave up trying to keep the pile in order, and the trash guys ended up having to lug much of it out of a shallow ditch behind. | ||||||||||||||||

| But I taped the event as usual, and though much shorter than previous years, it was still 6 solid minutes of the usual junk-pulverizing action that I (and hopefully you also) have come to love. Since the DVD was already assembled, and I didn't feel like re-doing it to add 6 more minutes of footage, I've decided to release the entire 2007 Trash Day to the web for free. This way you can still see all the action and, if you haven't already bought the DVD, you can get a pretty good idea of what the unedited footage looks like.
