| The Central Volunteer Fire Department decided to start a Junior firefighter program to get teenagers interested in the fire service. The Juniors can attend meetings, participate in training sessions, and even go on calls. The Junior of the company decided to take it one step further in the year 2000 and make their own organization. This organization became known as the Central VFC junior company. This organization at it's peak had nine active junior members. In the time since then all nine of those juniors moved up to senior status and are no longer juniors. The junior company now as of December 3, 2007 has no active junior members, so we are actively recruiting new members. The juniors in the organization have many types of training. The juniors of the Central VFC play a big part in the company's operation and we would not know what to do without them. The juniors organization has become a motivator for the juniors to be an active part of the fire service. The junior company raises its own money to purchase some of their own equipment and purchases some smaller items for the fire company. |
