| My Ideal Shotguns By Clyde Murphy Well as ya'll have probably noticed already this is a series of my favorite guns. This will wrap up the series with the Shotguns. As I have in both the other articles, I will break these down into categories. Upland game/Sporting clays Bird/Small game Turkeys/Large game Upland game/Sporting clay As you can see I added pigeons in this topic, clay pigeons that is, that's because shooting clays is one of my favorite things to do, and I think it only fitting for my sporting clay gun to do double duty as a upland bird gun as well. It will be a Baikail over/under, full over modified chokes 26" vent rib, with single trigger, with selector switch and automatic ejectors, in 12 Gauge 3". This is my pick for Upland bird, and sporting clays. Dove/Small game My ideal shotgun for dove and small game would have to be a Remington model 11-87, 20 Gauge 24" barrel, with screw in chokes. This gun is wonderful for rabbits and squirrels, also a great gun for dove with the full choke. I have complete confidence is this gun as you would a good friend. Turkey gun/Large game For this one I will have to go with the tried and true Remington Mod. 1100 12 Gauge 3" with the 30" vent rib barrel full choke. Great for turkey with 3" 4's and deadly deer medicine with 00 Buck out to about 75 yards. Also good for duck and short range coyotes. This article concludes my ideal guns series, hope everyone enjoyed it! |
