| So hopefully by now you have your Junior's number. Now comes the next Task...a Dog...Here are some questions you should ask your self before deciding: Height: Although this is not nesccesary thing to incorparte in your decision, if your a short petite individual, you should consider a breed that is considered small. Just that it might be difficult for you to fix your dogs back feet while still trying to control the head, on lets say a Dobie. But you know some people can do it so go them. Grooming: Even though a long coated breed is beautiful and attractive, It is going to be a huge comminment for you especially if you are a novice and dont know everything about grooming, it might be smart to consider a Short haired breed, if you dont wana spend a lot of time grooming. Breed: Do you want a breed that is none for free stacking? A table breed? A slow moving breed? Hands on breed? These are things you have to consider and the best way to weigh your options are to look at your self, your home, life, go to shows do research. What Kind of Dog: Do you want a finished Champion? A trained dog? a puppy? A resuce? or your pet you have now? For a Novice I would properly say to be on the safe said consider a Champion or trained dog. Although I have the best results from training a puppy this can take a long time before its ready for the juniors ring |
