I appeared on a school-wide broadcast (every school has a TV broadcast station) reciting the alphabet. I had to learn how to smile into the camera and enunciate each word. A student who spoke good English because she had lived in the Philippines did the interview. After that, I taught a lot of alphabet lessons, but then stopped for awhile. When I heard from a Middle school English teacher that some students did not know the alphabet, I went back and taught it again to every class. Every student should know this before they leave. Unfortunately, there is very little writing of English at all levels. But grade ones are starting to write the alphabet, repeat he alphabet, color the alphabet, sing the alphabet, and play games with the alphabet.
