SCHOOL AND PROVINCIAL ADMINISTRATION

¡¡

The language problem can be formidable, but with enough persistence an answer can be found. I work with the school office, city education office, and provincial office, for the bureaucratic things required. The school office is a source of school supplies and mail, bills and telephone calls. I get help with paying bills here. I can use the computer and telephone. I teach at the city Education Center to the grade three teachers in this region. At the provincial level, I renew my contract and get VISA information. The school office is the most relevant for daily concerns. I have a principal and vice-principal who I often think as the authorities in my life, but perhaps the real authorities are at a different level. The English Program in Korea (EPIK) office exists and I can consult with them, but not so much now that I have been integrated into the school system. For information and news, I subscribe to the Korean Herald. The school gave me a TV and a VCR so I am very happy.
