This "fruit for thought" article is for all human beings, who somehow find themselves in the role of webmaster and struggling to obtain higher search engine rankings.
The more quality outside links you can get pointing to your web site, the higher your ranking will be with search engines, especially Google. There are several ways to get links pointing to your web site relatively quickly, apart from link exchanges, which is a tedious and slow process anyway. Never make use of link farms. We will now briefly discuss the quick ways.
1. The Open Directory dmoz and other directories:
Submit your web site to several directories. If you can get listed in dmoz, you will make quite an impression on Google and some others. We do not know at this stage of any automatic one-click blasters to directories. So you will have to do it individually.
2. Blast your ad to message boards:
With this one, which you have to purchase, you can blast to 500 with one click:

3. Anchor linking codes:
Use your keywords in links, which you want other web sites to use for pointing to your web site. Give an option of more than one, so as not to over extend the density of keyword pointers beyond the limitations allowed by search engines.
<a href="http://www.yoursite.com/">Webmaster Resources
<a href="http://www.yoursite.com/">Web Tools
If you want other web sites to link to your site (without the link being revealed) through a banner or an image, which is stored on your site, you can use cgi code to be placed between the <body> and </body> tags on other sites, as displayed below:
<a
href="http://www.digiproducts.net/"
onmouseover="window.status='Webmaster
Resources';
return true"
onmouseout="window.status=' '; return true"><font
size="3" face="Verdana"><img
src="http://www.digiproducts.net/meccabanner.gif"
4. Write Articles:
Write web site relevant articles for re-publication in ezines, magazines, newspapers and other webmaster web sites. Place these articles on your web site where it can freely be copied. Make sure there is a signature inside, pointing to your web site and include a copyright statement like the one on this page. The more webmasters can copy and paste these articles to their web sites, the more links are accumulating, with pointers to your web page.
5. Article Directories:
Submit your articles to article directories, where editors can locate it for re-publishing. At the bottom of this page you will find a list of directories and announcement groups.
6. Leveraged Linking:
Use programs on the internet with MLM type of matrix linking like the one displayed below:

8. Reciprocal link exchange for your web site:
Check our home page at http://www.digiproducts.net for the link "Add your link". If you make a page like this available for visitors, you make it much easier for them to add their links.
9. Article directories and announcement groups:
