| (They leave for the event. Meanwhile, Julia is at home eating ice cream and watching TV.) Julia: (flipping through the channels) Nothing on�nothing on�nothing on�oooo look it�s the boys. (Waves to the TV) Hi boys�I met you. (Points to Nick) (Phone rings) Julia: Hello? Antonia: What�ca up to? Julia: Eating ice cream and watchin TV. Antonia: What I wouldn�t give to be doing that right now. Julia: Aren�t you at that charity event tonight? Antonia: Unfortunately. Julia: That bad? Antonia: YES! Everyone has to have a picture of me with AJ. It�s so annoying. Julia: Again I say�poor you. Antonia: Yeah well, if you were me you�d see how it was and you wouldn�t like it. Julia: Well I wouldn�t complain so much to have AJ as my boyfriend. Antonia: (sneezes) Julia: God bless you. Are you getting sick? Antonia: I hope not. Mom would kill me. I�ve got all these premiers I have to go to and then I start a new project soon. That�s the last thing I need. Julia: Well drink some orange juice�that always helps me. Antonia: Thanks Jules. I better go�mom�s headed this way. Julia: Good luck. Antonia: Thanks. (They hang up) (A few days later, Maria has set up a dinner date for AJ and Antonia in public. In the car to the restaurant.) Antonia: I can�t believe we have to do this. AJ: Believe it. What your mother wants�your mother gets. Antonia: That�s for sure. I don�t even like Japanese food. AJ: It�s not so bad. Antonia: Whatever. (Sneezes) AJ: Bless you. Antonia: Are we there yet? I just want to get this over with. (Sniffles) AJ: (hands Antonia a tissue) Another five minutes. Antonia: Great. (All throughout dinner, Antonia has been coughing, sneezing, and sniffling. AJ finally brings her home early.) Maria: What are you doing home so early? AJ: She doesn�t feel good. Maria: That�s no excuse. Antonia: MOM�I don�t feel good. I just want to go to sleep. (Sneezes and then coughs. She walks into her room) Maria: Fine�thanks for bringing her home. AJ: No problem. (He leaves) Maria: (walks into her room) That act might work for him, but not for me. How could you blow this for us? You know this was important. Antonia: I didn�t blow anything mother�I�m sick. Just face it. Maria: You better be better tomorrow missy. Antonia: Just leave me alone. (Tomorrow comes and Antonia is worse. Antonia goes to the doctor and finds out she has bronchitis. Maria is frantic as to what to do.) Maria: What are we supposed to do now Antonia? You have premiers and a movie to shoot. Antonia: I don�t have to go to the premier�s mom. Maria: YES you do. (Julia walks in the room with a candy bar in her hand.) Julia: Are you ok Tony�how�d it go at the doctors? Antonia: He said I had bronchitis. Julia: (sits down next to her sister) Ouch. (Takes a bite out of the candy bar) Maria: You aren�t helping Julia. Why don�t you just go back to your room and sit there for awhile? Julia: No thanks. (Takes another bite) Maria: What are we going to do? Julia: About what? Maria: Your sister has many important things she has to do and she can�t be sick when she�s doing them. Julia: Can�t she just take a break for awhile? Maria: And how is she going to do that when she�s got appearances she has to make? Huh Julia�how do you suppose she can be here resting and out in the real world making a name for herself? Antonia: Lay off mom�she�s just trying to help. (Cough) Maria: If she really wanted to help�she should have been the one to get sick�not you. Julia: Why do I even bother? (Gets up and leaves) |
