Introduction to English learning sites

Part 1: Comparison

*Dave's ESL Cafe & BBC English*

Dave's ESL Cafe and BBC English present general information for learning English. In my opinion, the first one, Dave's ESL Cafe, is more useful than BBC English. Dave's ESL Cafe has various sections of learning English such as Quizzes, Pronunciation Power, Phrasal Verbs, Idioms and Discussion Forums. Especially, interactive tools are well managed. For example, the quizzes are very useful to check vocabulary, and Discussion Forums are very active.
BBC English also has quizzes and email discussion group. However, this site is focusing on articles in several categories. It would be helpful to enhance your reading skill, as it provides summaries of each report and explanations of difficult words, but it lacks of other sections except for reading. Therefor I think that Dave's ESL Cafe is better than BBC English in general aspects.

*Grammar Safary & Grammar Slammer Online*

Grammar Safary and Grammar Slammer Online are sites about English Grammar. Both sites are useful to study English Grammar, but I want to recommend you Grammar Safary because it help you to change your thinking that grammar is boring one. In Grammar Safary you can't find any grammatical explanations. They just offer thousands of examples that follow grammatical rules. In such aspects, students are suggested to collect grammatical examples as you explore the jungle of English.
Grammar Slammer Online is a common grammar website compared to Grammar Safari. They present various information related to English grammar, including letter writing, abbreviations, style and usage, etc. Although each section is organized well, the design of this site is not that attractive. This site would be more effective if provided in a better design.
