Greatnorthdotcom.com "Music is the mediator between the spiritual and the sensual life" Ludwig Van Beethoven Every music lover knows intuitively the importance of music in their life. Trying to explain the reasons for this feeling can be difficult if not impossible. Ever since the first notes were sung, the magical and spiritual effects of music have been recognized as an essential element of life itself. Life is movement and activity; always changing, sometimes fast, chaotic and confusing, other times restful and serene. Music echoes the movement of life. As our world becomes more hectic and fast paced, our contemporary music reflects this hyper-energetic race with time. Classical music is from a time when the joy of life was seen in all of nature, and the great artists and composers sought to duplicate that beauty in their work. Listening to their music reminds us, if unconsciously, of the gentle rythms and calmness of nature so elusive in our day to day lives.
