A REFLECTION
I'm like the stars, I'm like the moon, I'm not the son
Like a mirror, I just reflect the Holy One.
And sin in me will dull the image, so the world cannot see
A clear reflection of the Living Lord who dwells in me.
If I do not trust and I do not pray, my light grows dim
But if I walk close, the world can see my love for him.
When trials come and come they will, he will be with me.
He will hold my hand and keep me calm or he will quiet the sea.
For one of his own, there is no problem too large or a need too small
That he cannot hear or understand each time we call.
The dark clouds that come and seem to hide the light of day
He will blow away and lead us on if we will only pray.
I must go on, my duty must be to finish the race
Then I will hear him say, "My precious child, come take your place."
Let him use my life in such a way to save a soul from hell
Then I will hear him say on that great day, "You have done well."
