June sighed and leaned against Jim as their taxi entered Sun Hill. Not long now and they would be home. Thanks Jim, this has really been the most perfect two weeks of my life. June looked up and kissed Jim softly. Jim maneuvered himself, placing his arm around June, drawing her into him. He gently kissed the top of her head, running his fingers slowly through her hair. I know, it has been hasnt it. He drew her even closer a chuckle escaping from him. Well Mrs. Carver, we are home. They clambered out of the taxi, very jetlagged, exhausted, sun-tanned, but a newness of life within them. They slowly half-dragged, half-carried their heavy baggage to the front door. June dug the key out of her pocket, inserted it into the lock and swung the door open. She moved to carry in the bags, but Jim grabbed hold of her. Leave those. He looked at her with a playful grin. Jim? June gave Jim a mock stern look. She knew that grin Its customary to carry the new bride over the threshold! June didnt even have time to protest, Jim had already lifted her up and was moving towards the door. Jim, watch your back! June was giggling. Its ok honestly! Wooaaahhhh Jim yelled out loud as he tripped over the doorframe. They ended up a heap on the floor, Jim lying on top of June. He looked up at her, his eyes looking apologetically at her in his puppy dog way. Sorry! That was it for June, she couldnt hold back any longer. She burst out laughing, clutching hold of Jim. It was too much for Jim too, he started to roar with laughter, his deep booming laugh resounding through the house. June looked at him and took his face in her hands. And we nearly missed out on this Jim gazed at her and shook his head, his face full of love and adoration. I know, but we are together now, and thats the main thing. Believe me when I say this June Carver, now I have got you, I am never going to let you go. Dont worry, Im not going anywhere Jim moved and positioned himself over June. He bent down and kissed her softly, his lips brushing over hers. June reached up and pulled him closer to her. As their kiss deepened Jim raised his leg and pushed at the door, closing it firmly. Jim, our bags. June muttered Jim smiled down at her. This is far more important. THE END |
