June was in the canteen when Polly walked in; she sat down next to her.
"Hey how are you feeling this morning?" she asked,
"Well I've only been sick three times this morning so...pretty good" she bit her lip realising her tone was sarcastic.
"Look...I don't know what's going on but Jim is pretty upset for some reason...can you at least talk to him June?"
"I don't know if it will do any good." She sighed, �And besides you all keep getting at me like this is all my fault and I� I feel so awful. So terrible, like the worst person in the world.�
Polly touched her hand. "We don�t mean to make you feel like that, we just, we care about both of you and we want to help and Jim seems so cut up about this whole baby thing." She sighed,
"I know he is Poll.... but I might just make it worse." She said,
"Please try June...he won't talk to me." Polly was desperate.
June stood up. "Where is he?"
"He's with the lads in the changing rooms".

Jim, Nick, Reg, Des, Luke and Gary were gathered in the male changing room.
"So now you're going back to CSU. How was it being back in uniform for a week?" Gary asked,
"Um...different." He replied, "I think I still prefer CSU though."
There was a knock on the door,
"Cheer up Jim." Reg smiled cheerily.
"Come in." Des shouted, the door opened and June walked in,
"Um...Jim can I have a word?" She asked,
"Come in Sarge we're going." Des said. Luke, Des, Nick and Reg walked out leaving Gary stood smiling. Des walked back in. He grabbed him, �Come on." He told him dragging him out. There was a long silence, June shuffling about and Jim motionless by his locker.
"Polly said you were a bit low." She told him,
"What do you expect?" He asked bitterly.
"Jim I never meant for this to happen you know it wasn't part of the plan."
"You told me you were raped and the nothing...that was all I got June.�
"I'm sorry but I...you asked me what happened...I started to think about it again...just as I'd got it out if my head."
"You could've just told me that." He said, "Who else knows?"
"Only you and the doctor. I want it kept that way." She told him.
"What but...you have to stop him."
"I don't have to do anything Jim...I think I have a few more - more important things to worry about."
"So what did you tell everyone?"
"That the father wasn't around which is true." She sat down on one of the benches.
"Why tell me then...if you don't want anyone else to know why tell me?"
"Because� I didn't want you to think that I would sleep with someone else...especially after what had happened between us." She told him, he watched her struggling with her composure.
"We should just forget that." He whispered.
"This isn't my fault you know Jim. I didn't want this"
"I know." He sat down across from her; his tone was flat, quieter now.
"Do you? Then why are you looking at me like that why are you talking to me like you hate me?"
"I'm not."
"Jim.... don't it's obvious. You blame me. Fine. We'll just forget I said anything."
"I think that would be for the best." He said cold-heartedly.
"As long as we know where we stand." She walked out sadly.

June went to find Polly in the canteen.
"Did you talk to him?" Polly asked.
"Yeah." She sighed,
"And?"
"And I think he's ok � or will be." She was damned if anymore of her private life was to be the subject of station speculation.
June was slowly making her way down the corridor when she spotted Gary. "Um, Gary I need you to do me a favour." She said catching his arm.
"Yeah sure...what is it?" She frowned, "Sarge?" He prompted.
"Oh." She cried grasping her stomach.
"Sarge what is it?"
"I don't know...." She collapsed into his arms,
"Sarge.... help!" he shouted. Craig ran out of CAD as Tony walked out from an interview room.
"What happened?" Craig asked,
"I don't know.... she held her stomach and then she just passed out" Gary panicked.
"Okay...Tony call an ambulance, tell them to get here now!" Craig ordered, he felt for a pulse. "June can you hear me?" He asked but got no reply.
"What's going on?" Jack asked seeing Craig and Gary on the ground. He froze as he saw June,
"Is she alright?"
"Sir.... does she look alright?" Gary shouted.
June stirred; she slowly opened her eyes,
"Okay June don't move." Craig told her softly,
"Oh...what?" She was confused.
"You passed out." Gary told her.
"Just stay there okay...Tony's calling an ambulance now"
"No." she tried to get up,
"June stay there. That's an order." Jack told her.
"Do you remember what happened?" Craig asked.
"Yeah..." she said.
Tony returned. "The ambulance is on its way." He said as June sat up.
"June!" Jack started.
"Gary help me up... please?" He helped her and as expected she stumbled. Gary caught her,
"Do you feel alright?" Craig asked,
"No." She told him.
"No?" He asked.
"No....my stomach hurts." She told them.
"What are you doing standing around?" Gina asked as she made her way down the corridor.
"Gina�June collapsed we're waiting for the ambulance"
"She looks a bit peaky." Gina stated.
"Oh...."June cried, she grasped her stomach.
"I think she's gone into labour." Gary said, he gave June his hand to hold. She was breathing deeply.
"Okay bring her into my office." Gina ordered, Gary helped June up.
"I'll go and see where the ambulance is." Tony mumbled running down the corridor.
Tony was waiting outside the station, Matthew walked up to him
"Tony you're meant to be in CAD."
"I know I'm waiting for the ambulance." He said.
"Ambulance - why?"
"Something�s wrong with June we think she's gone into labour." Tony told him, "She collapsed. She's awake now but I think she's having contractions."
"What...it's too soon."
"I know that's why we called the ambulance."
"Here it is." Matt said, looking up.
"In here." Tony told the two paramedics.
June was holding Gary's hand. She was breathing deeply, Tony led the paramedics to her.
"Sgt Ackland." One asked looking at Gina.
"No it's her." She said pointing to June.
Jack walked into CID. "I've been looking for you everywhere!" Danny said,
"Sorry there's been a bit of an emergency with June Ackland"
"What?" Eva asked.
"She collapsed. Then she started getting contractions."
"She's only 5 months." Eva replied.
"I know... she's just gone to the hospital." Jack said.
"Can I go down there?" She asked.
"Um...."
"Please Sir" She pleaded.
"Okay." He nodded. Eva grabbed her coat and ran out.
Rob ran through the hospital. He found a nurse talking with Eva.
"Excuse me I'm looking for June Ackland." He said interrupting. Eva looked at him.
"Both of you follow me." The nurse told them.
June was lying on a bad. Gary was next to her.
"Gary...I really appreciate this."
"I couldn't just leave you now could I?" He smiled, "have you had anymore?" He asked.
"No." She told him.
"Scared?"
"Yeah� I am... I've just gotten used to the idea and now it might..." She stopped as Eva and Rob walked in.
"Sarge how are you feeling?" Eva openly looked worried.
"Um� okay thanks." She said.
"Have you had anymore contractions?" Rob asked.
"No." She told him.
"Good that's a good sign. Has the Doctor explained everything to you?"
"Yes..."
"Look Sarge...I'll go. Is it alright if I come back later?� He asked.
"Yeah...Gary thanks." She smiled weakly.
"I was so worried about you." Rob told her. "I'm just going to go and talk to the Doctor alright?"
"Yeah fine." She told him, he walked out.
"Sarge how are you feeling... really?"
"Scared...I've only just decided what to do and now I might not get to choose"
"You're keeping it?"
"If I don't loose it...this has made me realise that...it's my baby despite the fact of..."
"What?"
"Nothing"
"Sarge? You can tell me I won't say anything"
"Eva you have to promise me that you won't tell anyone." She told her.
"I promise." She took June�s hand.
June was asleep when Gary walked in; she opened her eyes and looked up.
"Gary." She smiled.
"Hello...I have good news. You can go home in a few hours. He wants to monitor you for a few hours then if it's all clear you can go home."
"Thank God." She sighed. "Um...I don't suppose Jim's around is he?" She asked.
"Um. No sorry do you want me to ring him?" He asked, tears welled up in her eyes.
"No." She said.
Gary stormed into CSU searching for Jim, slamming the door behind him.
"What�s wrong with you?" Jim asked,
"Where were you...I asked you to go ands see Sgt Ackland."
"I was busy." Jim lied.
"You are a stubborn git!"
"Oh don�t start.�
"She needed you. You're just angry because that baby isn't yours, that she went with someone else!"
"She was raped." Jim shouted. Gary was shocked; Jim put his hand up to his mouth.
"What?"
"Nothing."
"You said she was raped... by who?"
"I don't know." Jim hung his head.
"Why haven't you supported her?"
"Because I can't stand the thought of him...doing that to her it's all
I think about I don't see her anymore I see her and his kid."
"Jim. You could make a difference. You could help her out. I know you love her and she loves you I've got to pick her up in an hour from the hospital if you're any kind of a man you'll be there".
June was dressed ready to go. Gary looked at his watch,
"Ready?� she asked.
"Yeah, sure�whenever you want?"
"Yeah...look Gary...thanks. You didn't have to do this."
"Sarge, it's fine. I wanted to help." He said. He picked up her bag. She walked out after him. They made their way to the car; June was about to open the door when Jim ran up to her.
"June." He called; she looked across the car park at him. He took her hand, "I'm sorry.... I'm so sorry." He kissed her.
They were in her flat, "What made you change you're mind?" She asked.
"I want to be there for you I don't care how. I just want to be with you.
Let me be this baby's father."
"What?" Somewhat stunned by his statement and complete turn around.
"Let's tell everyone that I'm the dad. That way no-one will ever suspect anything."
"Are you serious Jim?"
"Yes.... I love you June. I'm sorry for reacting the way I did. I was wrong but...what we wanted all along was to be together...we said a baby would be a bonus. Let's have the family we've wanted." He told her. She looked at him unsure of what to say.
