This story was quickly written so I don't know if it is any good.
Craig and Matt were discussing the incident when June came over. "Have you heard anymore about Gina, June?"
"No Matt, I haven't heard from Gina or Jim"
"I am sure they are alright," Craig said
"Yes, Yes I am sure," June said with a worried look on her face.
"Jim will turn up when he is ready" Craig said
"Right well I had better go" Matt said as he walked into his office
"Craig, if Jim does come in later can you let me know please"
"Why?"
"Just do it please?" June said as she walked up to CSU leaving Craig with a long face.
June sat in the office in CSU with her head in her hands. She tried to do some paper work, but she couldn't concentrate, she kept thinking about Jim. She had phoned the flat a couple of times but there was no answer, she couldn't help but worry, she hadn't seen him for 2 days. She just wanted to be with him, she was so worried about him. She couldn't understand her feelings, ever since they had kissed in the office the night of the fire she has felt the need to be with him. She had always had feelings for him but she always kept them hidden until now, she tried so hard to forget about him but she couldn't. She knew she had to be careful because she didn't want everyone to know, but she found it hard not to tell someone how she felt. Her thoughts were interrupted when Brandon entered the office. 'Sarge, would it be possible to have an hour off to go and see Inspector Gold please?" Brandon asked
"Umm, yes, yes of course and could you get a bunch of flowers from us all please" June replied
"Yes, ok"
"Tell her we are all thinking of here and Jim"
"Ok" Brandon said as he walked out
As Brandon closed the door June could hear two familiar voices, one was Craig's and the other one was Jim. She swiftly got out of her chair and trying not to look so excited she quickly moved towards the door. As she opened the door and saw Jim, she was so relieved that her eyes filled up.
"Jim, your back in one piece then" Craig grinned
"Yep, that's right" Jim smiled
"Jim!" June shouted, "Oh I am glad to see you, I was - we were all worried about you" June continued trying to fight back the tears. Craig looked at her and frowned. "Would you like to come into the office?"
Jim walked passed Craig and went into the office; Craig walked off back downstairs.
June closed the door and she couldn't hold it anymore, tears flowed down her cheeks. She turned around slowly to face Jim. "Are you alright?" she cried
"Yes, not a scratch on me" Jim replied
"I was so worried about you, I thought - I thought I had lost you forever" she sobbed into her hands
"Oh June, come here" Jim said standing up and holding his arms out to her
"I am sorry, but you mean so much to me, if anything happened to you I don't know what I would do" June said as she walked over to him. He put his arms around her and gave her a big hug. She continued to sob and eventually Jim put his hands on her face and wiped away the tears. "Come on, it's alright" he said,
"Jim, I love you so much and I have been a fool"
"June�"
"I know what you are going to say, I am too late"
"June last night I thought I was going to die and the first thing I thought of was you, how much I would miss you. I will always love you June but as you said with us working together, it just isn't going to work."
"Oh Jim I am so sorry I hurt your feelings. Last night I didn't sleep at all, I lay awake thinking about how stupid I have been over the last 20 years. I have always had feelings for you and when we kissed that evening in the office, it scared me; it felt so right that I was frightened and that's why I told you it shouldn't have happened. I was stupid I should have told you how I felt"
"June, shush" Jim said as he kissed her slowly on the lips. Tears flowed down her cheeks.
"Look I had better get back" Jim said pulling away from her
"Jim, don't go please, I need you" June pleaded
"It would never work"
"Jim please"
"I don't know June"
"Then just answer this one question, do you love me?"
"Yes, yes I do" Jim replied
"Then prove it and stay here with me," June cried
"What about the station?"
"I don't want to lose you Jim, we'll tell the entire station if you like, I just want to be with you"
Jim once again kissed her but this time it was more passionately. "Oh Jim I have missed you"
"I�ve missed you too" he replied as he kissed her
"Do you think we can be happy Jim"?
"Yes, very happy"
They kissed and clung together tightly as if they were afraid of letting go.
1 Year later June and Jim got engaged and everything was perfect.
