A Merry Christmas
by   The Saints
"'Ere could you to give us a hand with this." Reg sniffed at June and Jim as he dragged the Christmas tree up to the front office.
Throwing his bag into June's arms, Jim bent down and picked up the bottom of the tree.
"Reg, couldn't you have found a smaller one?" Jim grunted under the sheer weight.
"I thought size mattered?" Reg asked.
Reg shuffled through the door. "I didn't know you two were car sharing," he said innocently, dropping his end of the tree.
"My car's in for its MOT Reg, Jim picked me up on the way in." June said quickly.
"Oh right. Thought that was last month."
"It was... but it failed." Jim interrupted.
"Oh yeah? On what?" Reg says clapping the dirt off his hands.
"Erm," June started, "I don't know exactly, you know me and cars. I just left it to the mechanics."
"Here Jim, looks like the tree has scratched your neck." Reg pointed at the red mark on his neck.
"Ooh yeah Jim," June spluttered, "That looks nasty. You want to get that cleaned up."
"I've got some ointment if you want it, those needles can be nasty," Reg said.
"I'll be fine Reg," Jim replied. "June, have you seen the time? We're running really late."
"Yeah, come on." June said pressing the buttons and opening the door to go upstairs.
"That was close," Jim laughed. "I told you to be gentle with me."
"Likewise," June said pulling her polo neck further up. June glared at him before laughing.
"I'll buy you a polo neck jumper on my way home then, shall I?"
"Make it a Christmas pressie." Jim patted her behind as he followed her upstairs.
**
They walked through the doors into CSU.
"Morning all." Jim said, cheerfully hanging his coat up.
"Morning." Brandon replied looking up.
"Hi." Cathy looked up too.
"You two look happy this morning," Cathy smirked. "Have I missed something?"
"Sorry?" June said straight-faced wandering over to her desk.
"And who's been biting you, Jim?" Cathy smirked even more.
"I had an encounter with Reg's Christmas tree on the way in," Jim smiled. "Damn thing attacked me."
"Since when did a Christmas tree have teeth?" Cathy grinned twiddling her hair.
"It doesn't Cathy. It has branches which are sharp." Jim said curtly.
"Sarge, do you think that looks like a love bite?" Cathy looked at June.
June looked up from her desk.
"What Cathy? I don't know Cathy."
She was spared by the telephone ringing. "CSU, Sergeant Ackland." June said glaring at Cathy.
"Someone's tetchy this morning." Cathy muttered.
"Cathy..." Brandon sighed.
"What? I'm just trying to make conversation So who is she?" Cathy said looking at her computer.
"Who's who?" Jim asked.
"Who's the lucky lady?"
"No-one you know." Jim said quickly, looking down at his keyboard.
"Yeah, right!" Cathy said looking at June who was still on the phone.
"Honestly Cathy, it's a friend of a friend."
"Or don't you mean, an OLD friend?"
Brandon looked at Jim and shook his head.
"Cathy, we've got to go and talk to that witness from last night's robbery at the old folks home." he interrupted.
"I've got to finish this first. And Jim can't leave it at that, now he's admitted it was a Christmas tree that bit him."
"Are you jealous or something Cathy?" Jim asked.
"Hardly." Cathy leaned back in her chair only to be glared at again as June put down the phone.
"Have you nothing better to do than gossip Cathy?" she sighed.
"What's up Sarge? Don't you like been talked about?" Cathy grinned.
"Sorry?" June blinked.
Brandon hung up his phone. "Cathy, that was the warden at the old folks home, she wants to talk to us now, before her shift finishes."
Cathy sighed and stood up.
Waiting for the door to close, June glared at Jim. "What?" he smiled, "It was you that did this to me."
"But you were the one setting Cathy off."
"I didn't do anything," Jim protested. "She was the one asking all the questions. I couldn't ignore her now could I?"
"One of these days I swear I'm gonna..." June raised her hands in front of her "...her"
"Now June, calm down," Jim laughed. "We got away with it.... I think. Just be more careful next time."
"Me careful?" June snorted.
"Well I'm the one telling everyone a Christmas tree attacked me."
June smiled and shook her head. "Well, Reg will back you up." she replied.
Jim raised an eyebrow, "Cathy's probably got this place bugged," he laughed, "You know what she's like for gossip."
"Well she can shove her bugs up her ar..."
"Ah sir," June said as Jack walked in. "What can we do for you?
"I was just passing, seeing if everything was going ok." Jack said.
"Everything's fine sir," June said. "Brandon and Cathy are out interviewing someone about the break in at the old folks home. We're just sorting out some paper work."
"Ok, how's it been going? Can't help thinking CID's not being paying you much attention with recent events." Jack trailed off.
"I think CID has enough on its plate at the moment sir," June replied. "We've been pretty quiet in here the last few days."
"Oh well, lets just hope for a New Year, new start, eh?"
"That'd be good sir," Jim added, "And we've always got the Christmas party to look forward to."
"That's tonight isn't it?"
"It certainly is," June said. "How could you forget? Reg has never stopped talking about it since November."
"Yeah, good old Reg, anyway I'll let you get on." Jack said before leaving.
"Alone again." Jim grinned.
"You have a one track mind!" June smiled sitting back in her chair.
"I've never heard you complain before." He laughed.
"Who said I was complaining?"
Jim walked over to June and sat on the edge of her desk. "So, looking forward to tonight then?"
"A little." June smiled rubbing her hand on his leg.
"Can I book a dance with my favourite Sergeant?"
"We'll see."
"And I don't mean Matt Boyden you know," he chuckled, "Or Gilmore for that matter."
"I should hope not." June laughed.
"I'm having the last dance with you." Jim said.
"Doesn't look like I'll have much choice." June grinned moving her hand up Jim's leg. He bent down and kissed the top of her head. At that moment the phone rang.
"CSU, Sergeant Ackland." June sighed. "Erm no, you want extension 251 for CID."
"Where were we?" Jim asked taking the receiver out of her hand.
"Trying to get some work done." June smiled.
"You tease." Jim stuck his tongue out at her before returning to his own desk.
"Me the tease?"
"Yes you," Jim smiled. "That was your hand on my leg wasn't it?"
"Hmm, it's too early for getting excited PC Carver."
"I'll save that for later then shall I Sarge?"
"Yes please." June giggled.
**
"Jim, do me a favour, will you?" June said struggling to fasten the back of her dress.
"Certainly," Jim smiled. "You look good in that dress."
"I would if I could fasten it, would you?" June pointed to her back.
"But then again, you look equally good out of it!" he smiled walking over to her.
"Just behave..."
Jim slipped his hands under the material of her dress. "What was that June?"
"You heard." June grinned.
"But we've got a while before we have to be there haven't we?"
"Doesn't feel like I've got much choice." June smiled feeling Jim pressing against her.
"Want to take your dress off before it gets creased?" he asked.
June lifted up her arms and grinned at him.
"Certainly Madam." Jim lifted the silky material over her head.
June smiled putting her arms down round his shoulders pulling him close.
"Now I really don't want to crease your suit Jim," she grinned, her hands unbuttoning his shirt.
"Yeah." Jim grinned watching her hands.
She pulled his shirt from out of his trousers and pushed it to the floor.
"Don't crease it," he laughed.
June put a finger up to his lips.
"Stop complaining," she said softly, "It'll be me that ends up ironing it again."
She kissed him, "Don't mess my hair up," she warned.
Jim shook his head before kissing her on the lips, pulling her close with his hands around her waist. June's hands slid to his trouser belt as she undid it and cast it to one side. Jim helped her undo his trousers as he kissed her. He pulled away a second, picked up their clothes and laid them over the chair before talking hold of her by the waist again. Stepping forward he lifted June up and carried her over to the bed.
June smiled as Jim lowered on her to the bed, slipping his boxers down with her hands as he did. Taking his erection in her hand she pulled him on top of her, kissing him deeply. She moaned as his hands roamed her body, one hand finding her breast the other searching between her legs. June's breathing quickened with his every touch. Jim's hand pulled at her underwear pulling them down and he grinned at her as she kicked them off.
She pulled him towards her gasping as he slid inside her. She smiled pulling him down towards her and kissing his lips. He pulled away and nuzzled at her neck. His breathing was getting faster and faster. She moaned as his tongue caressed her neck tickling her and making her squirm in excitement.
Jim shuddered as June's fingers ran down his back. June shuffled making Jim roll first on to his side then on to his back. Smiling at him she sat up straight before leaning back and running her hands down his chest. June sighed as Jim reached out and cupped his hands round her breasts. She looked deeply into Jim's eyes as she took control.
June moaned softly at first as she moved in time with Jim's body, enjoying the touch as his hands roamed her chest. She sighed quietly before leaning forward and kissing him on the lips. June's breathing quickened in time with Jim's. She pulled her lips away, moving her body up and down on him, becoming faster with every thrust. She began to moan loudly, leaning back as Jim took hold of her waist, pulling her down towards him.
"Oh, Jim..." she cried as she felt her body begin to tingle. "Oh... I..." she breathed heavily as their pace increased.
"Jim" she gasped as a shudder ran up her spine, "Ahhhh"
"June..." Jim breathed holding her waist tighter, letting go and squeezing her breast as he thrust hard into her.
"Oh, Jim, Oh my..." June tensed around him leaning back, crying out load as she reached her climax.
"Oh, Jim..." she sighed as she felt him follow her with one final thrust before she fell on to his chest holding him, his hands stroking her back.
June lifted her head to kiss Jim, "That was amazing." she smiled as he held her close to him.
She glanced up and saw her alarm clock. "Jim look at the time, we're going to be so late," she said quickly.
"Don't forget to cover that up with make up," he said rubbing her neck.
June smiled as she put her hand up to her neck, shaking her head as she climbed off him.
**
"Here" June said handing Jim his re-ironed shirt.
Jim slipped his arms into it. "Oow, this is hot." He laughed as he buttoned it up.
June smiled, brushing her hair. "Now can you fasten the dress up this time?" she asked as she pulled it over her head.
"Ok," he grinned, kissing the back of her neck as he zipped her up.
"Now, just cover that mark up on your neck," Jim said, "The last thing we need is for Cathy to start going on again."
"I was just going to." June sighed, rummaging in her make up bag.
She smeared concealer on her neck blending it carefully. "Do you want some?" she smiled, "and can you still see it?"
"Looks alright to me," Jim smiled. "Can you rub some on for me?" he grinned.
"Cathy will love it if she finds out you're wearing make up." June laughed walking over to him.
Jim laughed as June rubbed her hand on his neck.
"Right, we really have to get out of here, look at the time," Jim said smiling, "are you ready?"
"Yeah." June smiled.
"Got everything you need?" Jim said picking up the car keys and walking towards the door.
"Yep." June replied putting her arm in his.
**
Jim pulled the car into a parking space. "Looks like we're one of the last here, this place is full."
"Oh well." June shrugged unbuckling her seatbelt.
"It's cold," Jim shivered as he got out of the car. "Think it might snow tonight?"
"As long as tonight doesn't end in a massive snowball fight." June shivered as well.
"Don't say that too loud, someone might get ideas." Jim replied as they stepped into the hall.
"Don't even think about it!" June pointed at Jim.
"Think about what?" Matt said coming over to them.
"Snowballs." June rolled her eyes.
Matt's eyes twinkled, "A snow ball fight," he grinned. "I'll bear that one in mind."
June shook her head. "Men." she muttered.
**
"June!" Polly shouted walking over two drinks in hand. "Here's a drink for you." Polly smiled handing her a cocktail.
June took a sip. "Whooo," she said, screwing her eyes up, "What's in this?"
"I've no idea!" Polly laughed. "It's called 'tis the season'."
"I don't know about making you jolly," June said, "but a few of these and I'll certainly be merry."
"Well looks like you've got someone to carry you home, eh Jim?" Polly smiled.
"The joys of soft drinks," Jim smiled, waving the car keys and his glass of orange juice. Saves on taxi fares too."
"Rather you than me!" Polly smiled.
"Fancy another one?" she asked June.
"Oh, go on then."
Jim grinned at June, "That went down well."
"Too well. I think it's gone straight to my head," June said grinning back at him. "Anyone would think, Polly and co are trying to get me drunk!"
"Let's mingle," Jim said, "Bob's over there."
"Oh yeah." June smiled then grimaced as Polly caught up with her, giving her another drink.
"What this one called?" she smiled.
"Erm, you don't want to know." Polly giggled.
"I do," June smiled sipping at it, "Hmmmm, I like this better."
"It's a...'screaming orgasm'." Polly giggled again.
Jim almost spat his drink out of his mouth.
"What's wrong Jim?" Polly asked
"Nothing."
He looked over at June and smiled. "Interesting name for a drink. So do you like 'screaming orgasms'?" he winked at her.
"Don't we all?" Polly sniggered
"Erm, yeah." June blushed. She turned away from Jim, who was trying not to laugh. "So Polly, any old faces turned up?"
"Erm, Bob Cryer, that's about it."
"I really should go and say hi." June said, leaving Polly and Jim behind as she made her way over to Bob.
"Am I missing something?" Polly asked Jim.
"No not at all Pol," Jim replied. "So how have you been?"
"Getting by. Tony's been a great help. June too."
"She's a good friend to have." Jim replied looking over to June.
"Just a friend?" Polly smiled.
"Of course Pol. Why do people always think there's something going on?"
"Because it looks like there is and Cathy's been saying..."
"What's Cathy been saying this time?" Jim sighed
"That someone's been leaving her mark."
"Well I have been seeing someone," Jim said, "I haven't really told anyone. No one knows her anyway."
"That's not what Cathy was saying."
"Cathy's just causing trouble." Jim sighed, "I don't know what is with that girl."
"You're avoiding the issue, it's June isn't it?" Polly squeaked.
"No it's not Pol, I don't know why everyone is gossiping about us."
"Hmm well gossips are normally right." Polly said before wandering off.
**
Jim walked over to June who was sipping another cocktail.
"Hi Bob, June can I have a word." he said.
"What is it?" June asks as Jim pulled her to one side.
"The entire station is gossiping about us, Pol's just been asking awkward questions too."
June sighed. "Cathy."
"So what do we do?" Jim said, "Are we still going to keep it quiet?"
"I it's not" June stutters
"That's a no then I take it," Jim said, "We can't keep it quiet for much longer," he said "Want another drink by the way."
"I really don't know. I wouldn't mind another of these." June held up her empty glass.
"You want me to go to the bar and ask for a 'screaming orgasm'?" Jim spluttered.
June grinned. "Yeah."
"What's going on?" Bob says walking over to June.
"June wants a 'screaming orgasm'." Jim laughed.
Bob looked a little surprised. "A what?"
"It's a cocktail Bob." June smiled patting his arm reassuringly.
"Ah, I was going to say, I thought you meant"
"No Bob," June smiled, "Things change round Sun Hill but not that much."
"Doesn't look like that to me." Bob smiled as Jim walked over to the bar.
"Not you too." June sighed, "What is it with people?"
Bob shrugged and sipped his drink.
Jim returned with an orange juice and another bizarre looking cocktail.
"I couldn't bring myself to ask the young girl behind the bar for a ask for a screaming orgasm so I got you another 'tis the season'."
"You wimp." June giggled before sucking on her straw.
Bob laughed. "You two are as thick as thieves these days."
"Well we do have to work closely." Jim laughed.
"But how closely?" Bob asked.
"Sorry?" June slurped.
"You must have heard the rumours? "About you and Jim."
"Oh don't you start." Jim sighed.
"So it's not true then?" Bob asked.
"What?" Jim looked at June.
"I give up," Bob said, "You're not telling either way."
"There's nothing to tell." June sighed.
"If you say so," Bob said. "I'm just going to talk to Robbie."
**
Jim looked at June. She shrugged as she sipped her drink.
"What?" she asked, "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Just thinking."
"About what?"
Jim shrugged and sighed. "That you look good in that dress." he grinned.
"Jim..." June shook her head.
"What? No-one can hear me over the music."
"You really do have a one track mind!"
**
June turned round quickly. The alcohol in her system hit her hard and she stumbled sideways.
"You ok?" Jim said grabbing her arm.
"Yeah," June smiled, "I think these cocktails just kicked in."
"How about a bit of fresh air?"
"I think that would be good."
"Come on then." Jim guided her to the door.
The cold air hit them as they stepped outside. June shivered as she walked into the car park. "I thought you said fresh air not cold?" she said shivering.
Jim put his arm around her shoulder and guided her over to a small wall at the side of the hall. "I'm not sitting down, it's too cold!" June squirmed.
"Are you sure you're ok?" Jim asked, "You look a bit flushed."
"Yeah, I'm fine." June stumbled slightly as she walked towards the side of the hall.
Jim caught her as she fell. She giggled in his arms.
"Hmm," she smiled leaning back on the wall.
June giggled feeling Jim up against her. She kissed him on the lips, her hands teasing him.
"What if someone sees us?" Jim muttered, before pulling her closer to him and kissing her back.
June just grinned at him as she unbuttoned his trousers.
"June" Jim said, before gasping as her hands delved into his trousers.
"Sorry, my hands are cold." June grinned.
"How many cocktails have you had?" Jim smiled as June giggled, fumbling with his trousers.
June shrugged before kissing him.
Jim could feel June shivering in his arms; he pulled her into him wrapping his jacket around them both. June released Jim from his trousers, encouraging his hand up the slit in the side of her dress. She gasped as his cold hand touched her leg and slid up towards her underwear.
She gazed at him, kissing him softly, breathing sharply as his fingers moved under her knickers. Jim's hands moved June's dress to one side as she pulled him into her.
June moaned as she encouraged him. She kissed him passionately this time. She could feel Jim's erection pressing against her as his fingers delved inside her. She helped him push her underwear down her legs. She sighed as he removed his fingers and moaned as she felt his tip rubbing against her. She pulled him close in anticipation.
She gasped as he entered her, lifting her up off the floor, his head nuzzling her neck. "Oh, Jim" she moaned sliding her under wear all the way off and wrapping her legs around him tightly. "Jim..." she moaned once more.
**
Matt Boyden walked out of the hall, a young brunette giggling and holding his hand.
"Shush," he said putting his hand on her lips and leading her, "Come on."
She threw her arms around him, looking up at him as they made their way to a secluded corner of the car park.
Matt grinned, taking her hand and pulling her towards the side of the building. He pulled the girl towards him and kissed her before pulling away again distracted by a loud gasp coming from round the corner. Holding out a hand telling the girl to stay there, he peered round the corner. He had to look twice, not believing what he was seeing.
He grinned to himself. "I don't believe it," he muttered.
He watched as he witnessed Jim thrusting up against June, kissing the side of her neck as she June cried out with pleasure.
He started to laugh.
"What is it Matt?" his girlfriend asked.
He put his hand up to her lips and whispered in her ear.
"I've got to go back inside, sorry." he grinned, kissing her on the cheek before looking back over his shoulder at June and Jim.
He shook his head as he saw them both climax and fall into each other. "But Matt..." his girlfriend said angrily going after him.
"Sorry," he said again, "but you don't know how long we have been waiting for this to happen."
**
June smiled as Jim lowered her to the ground and handed her underwear to her.
Jim smiled back. "You look a bit more sober," he grinned.
"Is that what you'd call it?" June grinned straightening her dress.
Jim fastened his trousers and straightened his jacket. "Do you think anyone noticed we were missing?"
"Probably all too drunk," she smiled.
"Do you want to go back in?"
"Yeah, we'd better."
**
Matt grinned as he walked back into the hall.
"What you grinning at?" Robbie asked, nodding at the unhappy girl on his arm.
"Just something I just witnessed outside," he grinned.
"Are you going to tell me?"
"Just saw two party guests being friendly very friendly with each other round the side..."
"Really?" Robbie's eyes lit up, "Who?"
"You'll never guess."
"Who?" she said. "Stop teasing me!"
"I didn't think they had it in them after all these years"
"Who?" Robbie begged.
"Well who's nowhere to be seen?" Matt said as Cass and Cathy walked over.
"Erm, " Robbie said looking around the room. "I've not seen Sergeant Ackland for a while, she was staggering round last time I saw her."
"And... ?" Matt grinned.
"I saw Jim taking her outside," Cass interrupted, "She looked like she needed some fresh air."
"Well she was getting more than fresh air, when I saw her!" Matt laughed.
"What!" Cass spluttered.
"You're joking? She doesn't seem the type, nor does he." Robbie said.
"Well you didn't see what I just saw." he grinned.
"See what?" Cass squeaked looking at Cathy.
"Jim and June getting friendly outside!"
"Friendly? In what way?" Cathy said sipping her drink.
"Use your imagination."
"They weren't?" Cass squeaked again.
"They most certainly were." Matt smiled.
"Jim was giving June one? This is going to be fun!" Cathy giggled wandering off.
"And they were both certainly enjoying it from what I saw and heard." Matt added.
"What's all the fuss about?" Bob says walking over followed by Gold.
"Matt's just caught Jim and June at it outside." Cass said.
"At what?" Gina sighed sipping her whisky.
"Erm" Matt blushed.
"Erm isn't an action." Gina lit her cigarette.
"How do I put this politely ma'am I've just seen Jim and June outside getting rather friendly."
"What, Saint June?"
"Well, that wasn't very saintly behaviour that I just witnessed."
Gina almost choked on her cigarette.
"You are winding everyone up I hope?" Bob sighed.
"Nope." Matt grinned.
"Here they come." Cass squeaked as June walked back in followed by Jim.
Gina, Matt, Robbie and Cass dashed off into the main room in the hall giggling.
**
June wandered over to the bar and ordered another drink. Gina followed her over and dropped her glass down.
"Another 'screaming orgasm' June? I would have thought you'd have had enough of them tonight?"
"Sorry?"
"Polly was telling me about the cocktails," Gina nodded to the glass in June's hand, "She said you were enjoying them."
"Hmm they're ok." June took a sip.
"Any more of them and your halo might slip." Gina sniggered, walking away.
June looked confused. She looked around the room for Jim. Spotting him talking to Polly at the other side of the room she made her way over to him.
She looked confused again as Cass started giggling as she walked past.
"What's so funny? Hi Pol. Jim here's your drink," she said as she reached them.
"That's what I'd like to know." Jim said taking his drink off June.
Polly smiled and another gulp of her cocktail, "You two are paranoid," she giggled.
"Well someone's not sharing the joke." June sighed.
Polly drained her cocktail. "I'm off for a dance," she said.
"Ever had the feeling you're missing something?" Jim said to June.
"Yeah," June sighed, "I wish someone would let us in on it."
Matt walks over too them. "It's a bit nippy out there ain't it?"
"I still think it's going to snow." Jim replied.
"You look a bit flushed June, you ok?" Matt tried not to grin.
"I'm fine Matt," June replied, "It's just hot in here."
"Not as hot as outside." Matt muttered.
"What was that Matt?" Jim asked.
"Oh nothing."
Matt wandered off leaving June and Jim alone once more.
**
"Have I drunk too much or is everyone behaving really strangely round here."
Jim shrugged sipping his orange juice as Bob wandered past.
"Did he just look at us strange or am I paranoid?"
"Bob?" June says walking after him. "What's going on?"
"Nothing, June," he shook his head smiling.
"Everyone keeps saying that. Something's going on."
Bob carried on walking.
"Bob?" June said before going back to Jim
**
"Jim," June said suddenly, "You don't think people know about us do you?"
"Don't think so, unless Tony's said something."
"He wouldn't would he?"
"I don't know. He's been very quiet tonight, mostly talking to Pol."
"I don't think he would you know Jim, he gave us his word."
"So, why is everyone grinning at us?"
"I don't know, maybe we are paranoid," she smiled, "I do know that my head is spinning."
"You ok?" Jim went to put out his hand but stopped himself when he saw Matt sat there, grinning at him even more.
"We're being watched." Jim said quietly.
June sighed and stomped over to Matt.
"Matt, what IS going on?"
"Nothing," he laughed.
"If one more person says there's nothing going on..." June sighed.
"I think you've had too much to drink," Matt said trying to keep a straight face, "Don't let things get on top of you. Relax. It's a party."
"Mathew..." June glared.
"Yes June."
"What's so bloody funny?"
"Excuse me, June," Matt said getting up, "My mobile's ringing."
"Oh no you don't." June stood in his way.
"What's going on?" Jim asked walking over.
"Matt was just going to tell me what's going on."
"Really," Jim smiled. "Do tell Matthew."
"Well?" June said.
"Ah ma'am," Matt said as Gina Gold walked past, "I hear you've been looking for me." He followed her across the room.
"Oh no you don't!" June dragged him back.
"June?" Matt said as Jim stood by laughing.
"You are going to tell me what's so amusing."
"You wouldn't believe the things you see when you go out for some fresh air," he said before walking off.
**
June opened her mouth and looked at Jim.
Jim looked back at her, "Erm..."
"You don't think?"
"He couldn't?"
"He must have." June put her hand up to her face to hide her blushes.
"Oh dear," Jim giggled, "I wonder which bit he saw."
"Going by the looks we've getting and what Gina Gold said to me, I'd say a lot!"
They were interrupted by the DJ's loud voice. "Ladies and gentleman, the last dance of the evening."
The opening bars of 'Lonely This Christmas' filled the room. People began to couple up and walk onto the dance floor.
Jim held out his hand, "Well, it looks like we've already been caught out."
June took Jim's hand and they walked onto the floor.
"No dirty dancing on the dance floor please. Keep it saintly." Gina said on her way past with Reg.
"And no 'screaming orgasms' either," she added as Reg dragged her along.
June's head was on Jim's shoulder, his arms around her holding her close to him. The others on the dance floor, looked over at them. They gazed at each other for a moment. Jim shrugged at her. June leant forward and kissed him on the cheek.
Jim tilted his head back and looked at her smiling. She returned his smiled before leaning forward once more. Her lips brushed against his. Jim pulled away slightly before pulling her close and returning her kiss.
They held each other tightly, moving slowly to the music, unaware how many people were watching them. Jim kissed June on the forehead and she smiled and looked up at him.
"I love you Jim Carver," she smiled.
"I know you do." He looked at her before kissing her passionately on the lips.
The onlookers gasped and smiled. Jim and June ignored them, still kissing. The song came to an end, but they didn't notice.
The room fell silent. June suddenly realised that the music had stopped. She pulled away from Jim and blushed. He smiled and hugged her.
The room broke out in spontaneous applause and June hid her head in Jim's chest blushing.
"About time," a voice called out from the far side of the room.
June bravely looked round to see who said that.
She saw Bob smiling at her. "You make a great couple," he said.
June smiled feeling Jim's arm protectively around her shoulders.
"We do don't we." She sighed happily.
"Home time I think." Jim smiled.
"Yeah." June smiled. Jim's arm was still wrapped around her shoulder guiding off the dance floor.
June wobbled slightly.
"Definitely time to get you home." Jim laughed.
"That was my heel's fault!"
"Yeah, right."
They opened the hall doors and stepped outside.
"Oh no." June sighed seeing the snow.
"Let's get out of here before the snow ball fight starts." Jim smiled, unlocking the car door.
June grinned mischievously as she put a handful of snow down his back
"Oi!" he spluttered grabbing a handful of snow off the car roof.
June tried to run in her heels but just slid round to the other side of the car. She ducked just in time as the snow flew over her head.
"Missed!" she grinned.
"I don't think so." Jim grinned running round to her side. He dragged her down into the snow, shovelling it down her front.
She shivered loudly. "That's not fair," she said pretending to sulk.
"Revenge," he laughed.
Gina walked past on her way to the taxi. "Do you two never stop?" she smiled.
"No." June grinned struggling to get up.
"We've got a lot of time to make up for." Jim added.
"I really don't want to know!" Gina said climbing into the cab
"Night ma'am." they said.
"Night" she said shutting the door.
"Come on, home time," Jim smiled helping June to her feet and kissing her on the lips. "Merry Christmas." he smiled.
