HAIL

Hail - Precipitation in the form of a round ball of ice that falls from a cumulonimbus cloud

Supercooled Water Droplets- water droplets that remain liquid even though the
temperature is below freezing.

HOW HAIL FORMS:

1. Water vapor condenses into liquid water.

2. Water drop gets pushed by an updraft above the freezing level and freezes.

3. Updrafts and downdrafts toss the frozen water drop inside the cloud.

4. Downdraft carries it down below freezing level so more liquid water sticks to the frozen
    drop.

5. Updraft carries it above the freezing level and freezes the extra water that is on the
    drop.

6. This cycle continues until the frozen drop is too heavy to be supported by updrafts, and
it falls to earth as a hailstone.
