About Entry Test There are seven places of M.B., B.S. and two for B.D.S. Colleges for M.B., B.S. according to a list of decreasing merit are as follows.
This is the latest and most beautiful looking medical college among the medical colleges of Punjab. This institution was established on May 2, 1975 as Lahore Medical College. To start with it was located in a portion of building of the College of Community Medicine at Birdwood Road, Lahore. The building is very beautiful and its hostel is famous or its charm. This college is now housed in its new campus adjacent to the Punjab University New Campus. The teaching hospital affiliated with this College is Jinnah Hospital, which was inaugurated on February 2, 1996.. The first Principal of this college was Prof. A.H. Awan. The present Principal Executive Officer/Dean is Prof. Syed Sibtul Hasnain.
Today Allama Iqbal Medical Complex has a beautiful campus spread over an area of 103 acres. This College is affiliated to the University of the Punjab, Lahore.

The Government of the Punjab established this college after the creation of Pakistan. It started functioning on the first day of October, 1951. It was the third Medical College in the province of Punjab. It was named after the First Pakistani Governor of Punjab, Late Sardar Abdul Rab Nishtar. Clinical teaching is imparted at the Nishtar Hospital, Multan which is situated in the college campus. Fatima Jinnah Hospital for Women and two Maternity and Child Welfare Centres in Multan City are also attached to the college for domiciliary maternity and child welfare training of students. The first Principal was Dr. Muhammad Jamal Bhutta. The present Principal Executive Officer/Dean is Prof. Shabbir Ahmad Nasir.
A dental section for B.D.S. Degree has been added. First batch of B.D.S. students was admitted in 1973-74 session. (Prospectus for dental students is published separately).
The Nishtar Medical College remained affiliated with the University of the Punjab, Lahore upto 1975-76, after which it has been affiliated to the Bahauddin Zakaria University, Multan

The need for the immediate establishment of an institution to train women in the medical profession was acutely felt. The father of the nation, the late Quaid-i-Azam gave his blessings and approved the name of his sister Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah to be associated with this institution.
Fatima Jinnah Medical College admitted its first batch of 39 students in October, 1948. Since then it has been training women not only from all over Pakistan, but also from the entire Muslim world and some friendly brethren countries. Fatima Jinnah graduates are serving not only in Pakistan but also all over the world. The first Principal of this college was Prof. Shujaat Ali. The present Principal Executive Officer/Dean is Prof. Shaheena Manzoor.
Teaching hospital attached to the college, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (550 beds), is now being extended on another 22 Kanals and will provide another 400 beds. The name of this new hospital is Fatima Jinnah Hospital. The college was shifted in November, 1974 to its present site at Tipu Road, Rawalpindi where all the Basic Departments had developed. The teaching hospitals affiliated to the college are Holy Family Hospital, District Headquarters Hospital, Rawalpindi General Hospital, and Fauji Foundation Medical Centre. All teaching Hospitals provide 1278 beds for the patients. A new teaching hospital (414 beds) will be operational by the end of 1999. The first Principal of this college was Prof. M.H. Toosi. Punjab Medical College, Faisalabad was established in 1973 and the admissions for the session 1973-74 were made in March, 1974. The newly constructed college campus is situated on Sargodha Road, adjacent to the University of Agriculture. It is spread over an area of 158 acres. The first Principal was Prof. M. H. Toosi. This Medical College was founded in 1970 and Bahawalpur Victoria Hospital is the affiliated teaching hospital with more than 1300 beds with modern operation theatres complex. Various postgraduate courses, i.e. DOMS, DCP, DCH, M.S. and FCPS are being held. The first Principal of this college was Prof. Alamdar Hussain.
