Ode To Forgetting
You pray the wheel's keep clicking
And track enough's already been laid
Your mind's still not made up
But the decision's already been made
The miles won't space it, time can't erase it
But you're well aware if you don't keep moving
Smiling and grooving, tiling and roofing
By chance or by fate, at any rate
You'll come within inches and merely just graze it

And you always think it
It'll sleep in the back of your head
Not invading the dreams
Or making you burst at the seams
It won't turn you lean, or mean, or green
Yet, you'll never come clean
And you'll find, through rhyme and time
That you'll only be rid of it when you're dead

And you're not alone, all set in stone
You'll hear the crickets, and buy the tickets
Turn down the candy and still want to lick it

To experience something, it takes more than one person
Waiting in silence is the realization
Cogs in a clock, atoms in matter
Hit it hard enough, and it just might shatter

You might cut yourself shavin'
The whole world could cave in

And you'll brave the grave, and enslaving pavement
And you'll know right where you stand
And where they stand

It's funny, once you've lost all your money
And worldly possesions, you then embark on the journey
It'll come back, then; been where you've been
And you'll hear it and see it
And you'll feel it and taste it
All the running and stumbling only leads you to face it

Forgetting is an idea
Ideas come from the head and make you think
