In the Old Days
- Hey, you know those guys on the street?
- Do you mean the bums?
- No, the people playing the music and living off the tips  and change thrown to them.  Well, I was reading in an encyclopedia about them.
- Really?
- Yeah, so what, the guitar was invented in like, the  1800?s?  So, around the 1880- 1900?s these strolling minstrels got tired of  strolling.  They were like, ?Hey, I don?t have to stroll and play music.  I can  just stand here and not waste energy.?  So, that?s what they did.  And I read  that people were a whole lot meaner in the old days.  Yeah, and they didn?t like  the non-strolling minstrels. Except, they didn?t call them that, they called  them vagrants.  So, you know how people, in today?s times, throw the money in  the guitar cases.  You know, as a nice gesture.  Well, the people of the old  days, the mean people, they had a different motive.  The street people were  doing their street/music thing, and the old days people would walk by.  Except,  they weren?t too fond of the whole street/music thing.  They were more like,  ?Hey you, bum, go get a job!?  And I bet they would turn to their friends and be  like, ?Hey Frank, you got anything I can throw at this joker??  and all Frank  would have in his pocket would be some loose change.  So the mean angry people  of the old days would throw the money at the street people.  But, money doesn?t  hurt too much when it?s thrown at you.  Maybe if it was thrown off the Empire  State Building, but not from ten yards away.  Then the money bounced into their  guitar cases.  Yep, that?s what I read in the Encyclopedia.
- Really?
-Yeah.
