England 2002
During June and July 2002 I spent two months in a lab at the Institute for arable crops research - Rothamsted. This research institute is situated in Harpenden, Hertfordshire (a 30-40 minute train trip to London on the Thameslink Line). I visited London a lot, saw a couple of West End shows, went to Waterstone's (biggest bookstore in Europe), saw the BodyWorlds (KorperWelten) exhibition (wonderful), and slipped through the Underground like a native. I saw a bit of St. Alban's (mostly the cathedral). In Harpenden I lived in the Manor House, and went for a daily run on the farm, where there are Roman Ruins and lovely fields full of wheat, linseed, oats... Somehow having seen England makes me understand Sting's lyrics much better.

Holy Cow! Eh... Bull! There were a number of these around London. Don't ask me why. In the background (not really visible - except for the white tail): bull dressed in tuxedo.
