Tout a commencé avec l'idée d'atteindre Odessa dans un mouvement est/ouest, nord/sud, et d'en tirer des images couleur et noir et blanc de format 24X36. Puis le projet de réaliser des clichés dans chaque entité nationale du continent est né.
De ces rechecherches "photo-géographiques" en Europe, terrain d'exploration et d'expérimentation, le questionnement principal est porté sur le statut de l'image. Quand le mass média ne fournit qu'une vision globale, spectaculaire et politisée de la réalité, propice aux politiques du bien charismatiquement mise en œuvre… comment ces pays se présentent-ils visuellement ? S'il n'y a pas de langage pictural commun, comment consacrer l'effective pluralité du continent ?
En quête d'un semblant photogénique européen, j'ai essayé de produire des photographies interrogeant des critères esthétiques et sociaux contemporains, Aujourd'hui le champ visuel a très souvent oblitéré le langage de la représentation pour un acte de pure et simple visualisation. Face à l'ubiquité de l'image, il s'agit de provoquer une réflexion sur sa contemporanéité par une approche photographique libre et un souci documentaire.

From these "photo-geographic" peregrinations through Europe, as an exploration and experimental space, the main interest is the status of images. When mass media only provide global, spectacular and politicly minded views upon reality, conducive to the manœuvrals for good charismatically propped… how do these countries appear visually ? If Europe hasn't a convincing pictural language, how to diclose the actual plurality of the continent ?
In search of a photogenic european semblance, I've tried to carry out images inquiring aesthetical and social contemporary criteria. Nowadays the language of representation has been often obliterated by an overwhelming act of visualization. Withstanding the ubiquity of image, my aim is to proceed a reflection on its contemporanaity by a free photographic approach with a documentary concern.
