| This month we learned about the Pilgrims and Indians. We earned feathers to put on our headbands. We chose a new name that had a descriptive word and an object or animal. Mrs. Jenkins called us by that name this month when she took roll. We learned some fun songs and did a lot of projects like: Indian necklaces, clay pots, Indian blankets, and vests. On Tuesday, November 25th, we had a Thanksgiving Feast. Themes: Veterans' Day We learned a new song for Pledge time. It is called "Veterans' Day". We made a poppy pin and color a Veterans' Day parade. Click here to see why we will make poppies. Pilgrims and Indian projects We did a lot of projects!! We earned feathers for our Indian headbands - with names we thought of ourselves!! We practiced patterns when we made Indian neclaces with Fruit Loops. We made even more patterns on our Indian blankets using pattern blocks. We made clay pots at the clay center. We made Indian vests. Wow we had a very busy month!! Thanksgiving Feast We ate cornbread and popcorn, just like the First Thanksgiving. We all brought a piece of cut up fruit and mixed it all together. Our Friendship Fruit Salad was like our class - everything is different, but mixed all together it is FABULOUS!!! |
