October

We had Safety Week and Red Ribbon Week.  We made a pledge to stay Drug and Violence free.   We talked about taking care of problems without hitting or fighting when we pledge to be violence free.

We learned about Christopher Columbus and how to read maps and globes.

We learned about pumpkins and how they grow.  We sorted, counted, and made patterns.

We will had a
Halloween Party at school. 
Themes:

We learned about being safe in our homes.  We made a book that talks about Fire Safety.  We learned a great song that reminds us to:
"Get Low and Go",
"Get Out and Stay Out!",
"Call 911",
and
"Stop, Drop, and Roll" if fire gets on us. 
We heard a story about
Smokey the Bear. He doesn't want us to play with matches.

Safety Week and Walk Your Child to School Day
We learned about being safe when we ride in the car, walk to school and ride our bkes.  We practiced calling 911!

Columbus Day
We learned about
Christopher Columbus.  We learned to use maps and the globe.

Signs of Fall
We took a fall walk and looked for different colored leaves. We sorted the leaves and made leaf rubbings.

Red Ribbon Week
We pledged to never do drugs.  .

We celebrated Halloween, and had a wonderful Halloween Party!!
