| Whatever it takes "Success in reading appears to be the gateway to success in other academic areas as well. The availability of reading material in the homeis directly associated with children's achievement in reading comprehension."* A study* cited by the International Reading Association shows that having books at home really helps your child succeed in school. When children read because they want to, they develop and improve their skills without even realizing it. You can help by making books a visible part of your home life. An easy and affordable way to build your child's personal library is through Scholastic's Arrow Book Club. Arrow offers something for every reading level and area of interest-all at parent-friendly prices. Plus, every time we place an order, we earn Bonus Points toward free books and materials for our classroom! You can also order books to donate to the classroom or to one of the specials teachers. Cash donations are also accepted for the teacher to spend as needed on books. Documentation of the purchase will be provided. Ordering from Arrow is easy. Just look through the attached flyer with your child, make your selections, and return the order form with payment to me by September 5, 2006. The books will be conveniently delivered right to school about two weeks after I submit our class order. There's another convenient way for you to place your Book Club orders online. You pay by credit card, so there's no need to write a check or send cash to school. You can order anytime right up until the online order due date, and you'll receive an email confirmation of your order. The site is private and secure.
