I have a hard time putting into words how I feel or what I think about the long and sometimes hard path that led to the fruition of this project. Friends were made (and unfortunately even lost) along the way.In a previous incarnation of our musical selves (as Shatterday) we gained the admiration of some of our peers, and pundits alike through our shared passion for music and the few times we performed live. We played on some of the best and renowned stages in the city of Toronto, Canada, and surprised ourselves as much as we surprised audiences, family, and friends. As Man Facing Southeast, we got past the drawing board, but never onto the stage.
As much or as little as can be said for my writing the songs you can download here, these would never have come to be without the priceless support and superb efforts of Dev Britto and Paul Wheeler. I not only found the perfect accesories to my creative outlet, but two of the best friends one could ever have.
These tracks were recorded live, off the floor, at Art Zone Studios in Toronto, shortly before my leaving that city. They are merely snapshots of the many rehearsals we had, and in my opinion, are worthy of presenting here. Due to the limitations imposed by being a trio, our music sometimes lacked additional elements to complement or further the dynamics. In the songs below, I took liberty with the production, overdubbing some guitars and keyboards.
