The Player An original poem by Aimee Weber
I can't believe you did it I never expected it from you I guess I thought you were super-human but I found out that's not true.
You said you loved another and that I could accept, but the day our union ended is a day I won't forget.
It was a perfect Sunday sunny, bright and blue, until you said 'it's over' -it paled to a dark hue.
I believed you meant it, when you said we'd still be friends, but moments after it was over you had a new girlfriend.
I can't believe you did it. I never expected it from you. I guess I thought you were super-human, but I found out that's not true.
The battle lines are drawn and the struggle shall ensue. My understanding heart is gone, and now it's time I got over you.
I thought that you were better, than all those other guys. But now you're exactly like them with your fickle natured lies.
I realize my mistake in dating my best friend. I suppose I always knew I'd get burned in the end.
Don't believe I hate you, 'cause you know it isn't true. I just can't believe you played me. I never expected it from you. |
