Will you love me again?
Can we go back once the line is crossed?

You didn't mean to hurt me
We cannot change the past
I can't change my heart
anymore than you can yours.

I know we had to end it
our timing wasn't right
but I know I'll always love you
no matter what our future holds.

In a month I know you'll leave me
you'll be gone all next year,
but the ache my heart is feeling
will explain my parting tears.

We know we'll miss some landmarks
in each other's high school lives.
But when we're reunited
It will seem we've never parted.

So I shall close this letter
to my dearest, most treasured friend
with words of love eternal
and teardrops in my eyes.

I love you when you're near me
I'll love you when you're gone
and when you come home safely
we'll pick up where we've begun.
