This is the duck pond in Plum City, WI, decorated for Christmas. They decorate it every year. They also add decorations almost every year. The pond is a natural spring. There are also Indian burial mounds on the hill behind the pond.
The town has a lot of history. It's too much for me to put it all down on this page. When I was in high school, I wrote three or four articles for the school newspaper about the town's history. A brief piece is that directly across from this pond is a bar called the "Pondview." Originally this bar was the hospital. My mom was born at the hospital. After the hospital closed it's doors, the building became a nursing home. I remember going down there and playing bingo with the residents with my class during grade school. After the nursing home moved to it's new location, the restaurant-bar-dancehall went into the building. There were times that the building did sit idle.
