Writer: Rod Serling, based on the short story "Blind Alley" by Malcolm Jameson
Director: Bert Granet
CAST:
Albert Salmi, Julie Newmar, John Anderson, Wright King, Guy Raymond, Christine
Burke, John Harmon, Hugh Sanders.
Story:
A ruthless captain of industry strikes a deal with the Devil and goes back in
time to the life he remembers as a young man.
The story merges time travel with dealing with The Devil (appearing as a sexy
young woman named Miss Devlin, played by Julie Newmar!). Thanks to her, Albert
Salmi travels in time again -- this time (in age makeup) as an elderly wealthy
man in the present to his younger years, as a struggling entrepreneur a half
century
earlier in 1910. He tries to change his life with his future knowledge but
screws everything up. This heartless, very rich man (Salmi) desires to return to
the small
town where he was born and start life again. He figures he will end up even
RICHER this time, since he already knows where all the big oil fields will be,
which stocks will go up, etc. A demon (Newmar) obliges him. However, he doesn't
realize, although he knows where the oil is, the machines required to extract
the oil have not been invented yet!
