~* Internships at Sacred Heart Hostipal *~
During my senior year of school, each student in the nursing curriculum got to go out on internships. Our class did our internships at Sacred Heart Hostipal. Each student got to pick an area of the hostipal that they was interested in. We went out on our internships every day until the end of the school year except for Fridays since thats when we had our tests. I choose the Respiratory Department. In that department I learned how the lungs function and many procedures that a Respiratory Therapist might have to use on a patient. I also learned the names of the equiptment a RT might use. My internship instructor, Fletch, taught me many things and he didnt come on easy either. He gave me homework to do whenever the other nursing students didnt have any to do but it made me learn more. He was a great instructor during my internships. I also met up with some Allegany College students who were studying the curriculum and they told me about college and what to expect. That was also a big help. There also was another student, Justin, who came from my home school, Westmar, who was learning about respiratory too. I met many employees of Sacred Heart and I'll never forget them. Thanks to everyone who helped with my internship.
This is me outside the Respiratory Dept.
This is Fletch, instructor, and me doing our treatments.
Nothing better than to eat a healthy lunch and get energy before the second round of treatments.
Justin and me checking our treatment cart on our rounds.
Dan and Derek, two ACM respiratory students, stop and pose for a pic. Good luck in your studies!!!!
This is Andy, a certified RT, and Jonathan, a ACM student. I worked with Andy in the Pulmonary Lab when Fletch wasn't there.
