Sisterly Resemblance

We're not mirror images
By any stretch of the imagination--
never have been. Different colouring,
different shape, different size.

Even though I'm curly and they're
straight; even if she's the skinny one,
and despite our different heights--

They tell us we look alike when we're
standing side by side. They say it's the glasses,
the eyes, the noses. I don't know
for sure, but I think it's
the way we laugh together.
