First Lab The difference between Absolute or Direct and Relative References is that Absolute or direct reference is when you have a direct file name or path in order for the computer to find the file when needed. A direct reference is a specific file which is not related to the one in which it is linked to. It has its own place. An example of a direct file is C:/main/folder2/christy.html and when a computer is searching for this specific file it has to have the entire file path to find it. On the other hand, a relatve reference is one in which is related to the file in which it is linked to. When the computer is looking for this file it does not require the entire file path and will only search the file directory of the one in which it was linked too. An example of relative reference is when you first have a file and then you reference the linked file as just a file name and a type of file for example christy2.html. The computer will go straight to the folder of the first to find the second linked file.
