Stale
by Julian

(stale), placid intentions get
no results when impressed upon
those unresponsive to subtle
inquiries, eliciting yawn
and blank stare and dismissal but
never smiles of acceptance. yet
what is one to do if lukewarm
passions form the collective set
of motives to stoke the cold fire
intention needs, when every
action undertaken stems from
and stays in mediocrity?
how can prizes be claimed if they
require tools to win that are not
provided to each contestant
in full, and for those who have got
such aids, assisting opponents
is anathema, and i am
one of those in the wanting?  on
reflection it seems like a sham
to ask anyone to play that
game against those odds, but i guess
such minor trifles are ignored
when such contests are to be less
a petition and more of a
necessity.  i cannot fail
to see irony knowing that
such musings leave me feeling (stale.)
