This one was to be a 4 quatrain poem as a meditation upon some sort of fixed idea. When I write meditations, the first impulse I have is naturally to write about Daniela. So I did. The title means moonlight, as in the Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven, which ties in to the song aspect of the poem. She never actually wrote me a song though; that is a figurative song. Other than that, the scoff and upturned nose comes from an Incubus song called Mexico, which I highly recommend by the way. I simply wanted to construct some sort of contrast between the two people, and how one has such power over the other. Not much to this.
