Me

This one started out as the line "can you hide the disappointment in your eyes behind veneer of smiles and lies?"  and nothing more.  But I can't just let things sit, so I started coming up with other things that one might or might not be able to do that are not necessarily easy and ordinary.  And from there I just sort of kept writing, though I had no idea where I was going with it, until I got down towards the part where I start talking about "love me."  I realized then that this would be most effective as an inner monologue of a person having issues with themself, as was befitting my mood at the moment, though letting on to this fact would destroy some of the credibility of the separation of the two sides to this person.  So in effect, I had to tweak it a bit to make it sound as if one person was talking to another person in a sort of break-up speech, but in reality its intended to be the self-loathing and self-deprecation of an individual who sees no redeeming qualities in themself; in effect, the speaker never goes outside the "me" of the title when they identify the "you" that the speech is addressed to.
