Villain-elle / Gizebaxe
by Julian

I.

Today is just the fading memory
Burnt deep into cold and the icy core
Tomorrow will always decline to see-

The anger, hate, and constant jealousy
Of petty yesterdays will be ignored
Today as just a fading memory,

And the despair alive today in me
Is brought about now by the costly war
Tomorrow won’t always decline to see.

Past values of our failing constancy
Lie in the way we like to see our poor
Today as just a fading memory

Though those forsaken people presently
Live on.  And so upon our tarnished shore
Tomorrow will always decline to see

Or care to hear each hunger-induced plea
Of all of the abandoned children for
Today is just the fading memory
Tomorrow will always decline to see.

II.

The depths of our dying morality
That once through life ran long and warm and wide
Are now mere quiet triviality;

And every long gone stately quality
Which lived their days before today inside
The depths of our dying morality

Are now, at the bold hands of enmity
The victims.  The laws by which we abide
Are now mere quiet triviality,

The props of our social formality,
Which create endless phantom wells beside
The depths of our dying morality
To suit our greedy means and drop pity
Like habits learned early and then denied
As now mere quiet triviality.

This carcass of our old society
Lies forgotten, bleeding by the roadside.
Into the depths of our morality
Where now there is mere triviality.
