Finished!

On Sunday 14 April 2002 I ran in the London Marathon for S.O.S., the Stars Organisation Supporting Cerebral Palsy, founded by Dame Vera Lynn and her friends, and was very pleased to get a time of 3 hours 39 minutes & 41 seconds. I really enjoyed the day, and the support and the atmosphere were fantastic and much appreciated.

Below are a couple of photographs of me in action!

Here's one from after I crossed the finish line, with my supporting team. I seem to have fallen asleep already...

After the race we went to S.O.S.'s Good Neighbours House in Camberwell, a residential home for adults with cerebral palsy. We were given an excellent lunch and Dame Vera did some emergency sewing on my finishers' medal, which was in danger of falling off!

Many thanks for your sponsorship and support. It was a great experience - and I might even be tempted to run another marathon in a year or two!
