| While you are waiting for the pics to arrive. I arrived in Mexico on a ferry from La Paz Baja California to Matzatlan. The day started with people on board waking up and looking around to see if all their belongings were still there. If you managed to get 2 hours sleep you were doing good. The morning grey sky did nothing to lift my up. In La Paz I was the last vehicle on board and the first off at Matzatlan. It was just as well as I had some repairs to do before John could get his well burried bike off the ship. He later joined in the fun of getting stuck in and groveling on the floor underneath the trike trying his hand at wrenching. John was not mechanically minded but he wanted to learn. It began to rain and then it poured by this time we were in the centre of town asking for directions to the internet cafe. Neither of us could speak Spanish so it was more of guess which way we were going. We did find a place and I was glad to get out from the rain and under some shelter. While we were on the net I was hoping the clouds would part and the sun to come out no such luck. It was still pouring down with rain when we saddle the beasts and rode off down the soggy road. We managed to find our way out of town after detour and down the main highway. The trike was playing up missfiring and then died. I looked at my amo box were the electrics were and found that the box was now a container for water. As soon as I openned the lid my boots got wet or rather wetter. This was not the problem the problem was in the headlights. Over the road from were we stopped a bunch of kids were playing in the rain. I walked over there to ask if I could roll the trike off the road and into their yard to work on the trike. A man turned up and waved me in. John and I pushed the trike off the road and into a muddy yard. The man found the problem and put tape around the electrical problem. It started up right away. Thank goodness for that. |
