Melbourne
Victoria
I arrived in Melbourne for the day to catch the ferry over to Tasmainia. I arrived back about a month later. I was hoping to meet with a lady who had ridden across Africa on a motorcycle but it was some time after I was in Melbourne that I actually got to meet her. There was some kind of confustion over arrangments and she got the huf with me now she doesn't contact me at all. The first day I was in Melbourne I met with a character from Holland living in Australia. He was a carpenter and he kindly offered to let me stay at his warehouse/ studio.
I liked the pubs most of them were different in some way or another. I enjoyed the tram ride around the city except I had to run a block to catch as it would not stop where I was standing to collect it...not sure why. I went to the Victoria Market, Parliment house, and various other places in the city centre.
Here at the Parliment gates (that was as far as I could go) the gaurdsman kindly took a photo for me.
This was taken at a Ulysses members meet one Saturday just out side Melbourne. As you can see the "yellow Mantis got quite a reception. The Ulysses has a moto "Grow old disgracefully". To be a member you must be over 50 years old although you can join the juniors at the age of 40 as I understand.
Here is a wacky design of a house kind of scarey looking. I think I would wake-up in a cold sweat having nightmares. I could not resist taking a photo and while I setting up the shot a man on this holidays from the north of England took a photo also of the house one of the trike.
I forget the name of the Park in Melbourne.
