Travel log number six: Days 75-92
Dear All,

We hear the weather is hotter with you than us - I reckon we'll get over it though!

So, another couple of weeks has passed since our last epistle and we've finally dragged ourselves away from the beaches of Malaysia and Thailand and are back in polutionsville - Bangkok.

A brief recap. After one day in
Krabi we decided to take on the monsoon in a best of 5 days competition:

Rai Leh bay - 2 days - tried rock climbing, first time for both of us. Really good fun although muchos pain for the next 2-3 days from fingers and arms which weren't accustomed to the amount of clinging on for dear life that was being done. Monsoon 1 - 1 J&T

Ko Phi Phi - 3 days - beautiful beaches, first time properly drunk since Singapore and we did a cool day trip round the island for snorkelling, swimming and ... erm ... snorkelling. Also visited "The Beach" - along with a million other people - and were pleasantly surprised by its non-mingingness, contrary to what we'd been told. Monsoon 1 - 2 J&T

Then with the scores at a satisfactory
Monsoon 2 - 3 J&T we decided to quit while we were ahead and cross coasts to

Ko Pha Ngan - more beautiful beaches, missed out on the full moon party - there being a lack of a full moon - so stayed on the quiet side of the island (Thong Nai Pan for those that know) - showing our age a bit! Another snorkelling trip (same same but different) and more tan enhancement.

Ko Tao - our last beach stop in Thailand. Planned to do diving but after another snorkelling trip (same same but a bit better actually!) thought we would save our money for ...

Bangkok - a shopper's paradise indeed - well it is after 6 weeks out of city centres. Our "dive" money has definitely been put to good use - who can say no to "cheap cheap" jeans and shoes? Well we couldn't ... 7 & 3 respectively! [Unfortunately the cost of investment was then more than doubled as we sent about 20kg of stuff home - Mum & Dad Morris, should be with you in 2-3 months.] Also managted to get some washing done - a meer 9kg! Dogs have stopped trying to hump us now ... well most of them!

Currently waiting for our Vietnamese visas to be processed so are off tomorrow to complete "The Beach" experience and jump off "The Waterfall" in a National Park somewhere east of here. (Devil's Bridge Crew - full statistics to follow - Halton/Pitts I'll clearly label the email to save you the shame of having to read it!)

The number of "kids from '84" is ever increasing - and never ceases to shock us - bless 'em!

Keep all the "news" coming - can't believe the Jack Ryder / Kim Marsh fiasco! Are Ben & Jen going the same way? What with that and the weather, do you guys ever talk about anything else?!

Love Jules & Tessa
