At the moment I have two VWs, no, make it three!

About a month ago I was able to finalize a deal originally agreed two years ago...
So now I have one of the VWs I have always desired: 1960 Karmann Cabriolet.
It is in quite nice shape with small reliable engine and everything is working!
I would like to say the same about the other two VWs as well...
1964 1500 S Notchback is kind of a resto cal .
I bought this car from Sweden back in 1998 and it was in really good shape.
There was no rust at all, what I have done is not so visible, clutch, brakes etc,
red Konis all over, GB shifter, Flat4 steering wheel etc.
New low spec 1776 cc is in and almost ready to be started.
Flat4 Sprintstars are waiting to go under as well.

1960 Panel Van has taken almost all of my limited spare time this year as well as last year..
I bought it in October 2000 and drove it in 2001 for a couple months in summertime.
It seemed like a good one but what a rip it turned out to be.
There was some wood used in the frame and lots of screws to keep it together!
In September 2001 my great friend Mikko started massive job of 1 full month changing
frame tubes and lots of panels. I took it back to my garage and I lost my interest on it for
a year. In September 2002 it was "painted" so that it should not rust again. I had a picture
in my head of how it should look like when ready and I bought some parts for it but nothing else happened. My plan was to get the chassis ready for a stronger engine, I ordered CSP discs
and some other stuff to begin with already in spring 2003. I had 1300 cc stock engine standing
in my garage and plan was to use that first. Anyways in the fall 2003 I heard that Jyrki was about to sell his "mousemotor" and naturally it raised quite an interest on me! I started again
to finalize my vision of the car with Kaitsu and in January 2004 I bought the engine, ordered
some more parts and together with Mikko we took it to Kaitsu's Navetta. There Kaitsu and Pasi took out the old and reliable 1200 and tranny, rear suspension had to go, front axle had to go etc. etc.
So now I have CSP adjustable front axle with CSP discs, adjustable Spax shocks all over,
Bus Boys IRS set up and CSP discs in the rear.
T-3 IRS tranny was replaced with Rancho Pro Drag IRS (so I upgraded my order from Pro Comp Plus).
I have "cleaned" up the engine (69 x 90,5, appx. 150+ bhp) and actually today it will be running again.

This season I have made only few runs on the straight and narrow, best ET has been 15,443 @ 136,06
at Alastaro this August. My plan is to go out once more to Alastaro racetrack and whip out
all it has in reserve! I know that there is more potential available...
