Worth The Worry
The soft morning sunlight streamed into the hotel room, settling on the two figures that were tangled up on the large bed.  Slowly, one of the figures began to stir.  He opened one eye and immediately closed it when the bright sun blinded him.  He tried to move, then realized he couldnt.  For a moment he began to panic but then realized what, or who, was weighing him down.  He realized that he was stuck so he relaxed his body and closed his eyes again.  He soon found that he wasnt able to fall back asleep.  He looked over at the other mans slightly tanned, well toned-back and sighed.

As his eyes wandered over his friends body, he wondered how they become so close.  He had known Josh for years; he couldnt remember a time when they werent friends.  Sure, they had had their share of fights and arguments, but never anything very serious.  He had always thought of Josh as an older brother.  They would spend a lot time together, always doing anything and everything to make the other laugh.  They would watch movies, play basketball even though Josh could never win and they would talk about whatever was on their minds.  They would tell each other about the latest crush or girlfriend or something that was bothering them.  They were often very tired but they always made time for each other.  Since they were in the music business and were sometimes in threatening situations, they would always be there for each other, comforting their friend, even though they were also scared.

Justin also remembered the day he fell in love with Josh.  It wasnt too long ago when he had realized his love for his friend but he knew now that he had loved him all his life.  Justin thought back to about a month ago when they had still been on tour.  All the guys were hyped up because they had just finished a show.  After going out and clubbing for a while, both Justin and Josh had gotten tired and he decided to retire back to the hotel.  When they got to the room that they shared, Justin had gone to shower.  Josh had gotten out a book and gone out on the balcony to read for a little while.  Justin came out of the bathroom almost a half an hour later, with his hair still dripping wet.  He looked for Josh around their room, but couldnt find him.  He finally went out on the balcony and his breath caught in his throat.  He didnt think hed ever seen such a beautiful sight in his life.  Josh was asleep on a lawn chair and was positioned so that the moon shined directly on him.  He had such a peaceful look on his face, too.  He looked just like an angel.  Justin felt something that hed never felt before.  He was too shocked by these new feelings to think about anything else.  He sighed and wondered what this meant.  He continued to stare at Josh until he saw him stir.  Josh opened his eyes and smiled at Justin.

I guess I was more tired then I thought, he said, still smiling.

What? Oh, yeah, I guess we should get to bed, Justin replied, still in a daze.  The spell was broken, but Justin had never forgotten what Josh had looked like at that moment.

Justin sighed when he realized how hopeless this situation was.  He loved Josh, but he knew that Josh could never feel the same.  At least, he thought Josh wouldnt feel the same.  He was too embarrassed and scared to tell Josh how he felt.  He smiled when he thought about this morning when he had woken up.  If he had been an outsider looking at them, he would have thought that they were together.  But the truth was that there was only one bed in their hotel room instead of two, so they ended up sleeping in the same bed.  They were both bed hogs, so they had gotten very tangled in the night.  Justin felt so safe with Josh sleeping by his side.  He knew he couldnt live like this, with this big secret burdening him.  Although he wasnt actually lying to Josh, he felt like he was by keeping something this big from him.

Justin shook Josh lightly to wake him.  He felt Josh stir and looked over at him.  Josh opened his eyes and smiled at Justin.  Justin loved that smile and to know that it was directed towards him made his heart beat faster.  Good mornin, Just, he said.

Mornin, Josh, did you sleep well? Justin asked, smiling at his best friend.

Yeah, like a baby, Josh replied, yawning, you?

Pretty good Listen, Josh, can I ask you something? Justin questioned.

You sound pretty serious, Curly, whats bothering you? Josh asked.  Justin was still wondering where he would get the courage to tell Josh and how he was going to tell him.  He couldnt just say I love you, that would be too forward.  He furrowed his brow in thought.

Um, well I, you see, uh Justin stuttered.

Justin?

Hmm?

Spit it out, Josh smiled.

Ok. Well, how would you feel if I told you I like guys? Justin asked nervously.

You mean youre gay? Josh asked. Justin just nodded, Justin, you know I dont mind.  Is that what you were so nervous about?

Um, no.  Theres more, Justin paused, This is hard.

Curly, what is so bad that you cant tell me? Josh asked, genuinely concerned.

Uh, well, I, you.ok Justin breathed, I love you.

Yeah man, I love you too Josh replied.

No, I mean Im in love with you, Josh, Justin said ringing his hands together nervously.

Oh. Wow. I didnt see that one coming. Josh said, trying to figure out what to do.

Oh man, I cant believe I just told you. You know what?  Forget I even said that.  Im sorry to burden you like this, Josh.  I shouldve just kept my mouth shut, Justin babbled.

Justin Josh said lightly.

Why did I do that?  Wow, I just screwed everything up. You probably hate me now Justin continued.

JUSTIN! Josh yelled to get his attention.

What? Justin asked, looking confused.

Just shut up Josh said, sitting up to look into Justins clear blue eyes.  He slowly moved in closer to Justin so his face was just inches from Justins.

Josh, what are you. Justins question was cut off by Joshs lips on his.
