PART 34

JC and Lance spent the morning in bed with each other, not saying much, but just enjoying each others company.  When they did talk, it was to tell each other that they would be ok no matter how their families reacted.  They were going to tell JCs family once everyone got home from work later that night.  JC was really nervous.

Babe, its going to be ok, Lance said, trying to convince JC.

But what if they- JC started.

No what ifs Josh.  We cant think about that.  Ok? Lance asked.

Ok, JC agreed, although the what ifs just wouldnt leave his head.  He didnt want to think about what would happen if his family wasnt supportive, but he couldnt help it.  He was scared.  Lance, Im really scared.

Im here for you, babe, ok? Lance asked.  No matter what happens, well still have each other.

Ok.  Lance, you know I love you, right? JC asked.

Of course, Josh.  I love you too, Lance responded, leaning in to kiss JC softly.

We should probably get up because Tyler will be home in about an hour, JC realized.

Ok, Lance agreed.  Do we have time to shower together?

Yeah, we should.  Lets go, Josh replied, getting up and helping Lance up before leading him into the bathroom.

****

Hey Joe, Steve yelled from the driveway.

Yeah? Joey asked, going back over once he hung up his phone.

Who was that? Steve questioned.

Some girl we met on tour, Joey replied, hoping that would be enough.

She your girlfriend? Steve asked nosily.

Not quite.  Shes just a friend, Joey told him, grabbing the basketball from his hands and shooting.

Nice shot, Steve said, laughing as the ball went over the hoop.

Oh, shut up, man, Joey replied, giving Steve the finger.

Oh, that wasnt nice, Steve said, running to get the ball.

Who said I have to be nice? Joey teased, laughing at his brother.

Me.  So if that girls not your girlfriend, then who is? Steve asked.

No one, Joey replied.  I have a BOYfriend, he thought to himself, Justin.  He sighed happily.

Youre lying.  That look on your face.  Youre in love, arent you? Steve questioned.

Fine.  Yes, Im in love.  And no, Im not telling you who it is, Joey answered.  Suddenly he was on the ground with Steve on top of him, pretending to beat him up.

Come on, Joe, tell me! Steve exclaimed, tickling Joeys sides.

Joey squirmed while trying to decide whether to tell Steve or not.  He was pretty sure his brother would be ok with it.  And he knew hed keep his mouth shut.  Steve was never one to tell his secrets.

Fine! Joey yelled.  You win!

Good, Steve said, climbing off of Joey and lying down beside him on the grass.

Its Justin, Joey whispered softly.

What? Steve exclaimed, sitting up.

****

Justin gathered up his brothers and their things and loaded them into the car.  On the drive to the mini golf place, Jon rambled on and on about what hed done while Justin had been away.  Stephen didnt say too much, just added in a few things when Jon paused to take a breath.

His brothers didnt *say* that they missed him, but he could tell.  He loved spending time with them, and he was so happy that he was going to be home for the holidays.  The best part of Christmas was seeing his brothers and his parents open their presents.  Hed gotten his brothers some awesome presents this year, so he was excited.

When they got to the place, Justin took their hands and led then inside, paying and handing them their golf clubs and golf balls.  I want the red one! Jon yelled, grabbing for the red ball.

No, me! Stephen protested, pouting.  Justin smiled at how much Stephen looked like him when he did that.

Boy, calm down.  Stephen, you can have mine, ok? Justin asked, handing him the blue ball he was going to use.

Ok, Stephen replied, taking the ball happily.  Justin smiled at the looked of pure adoration in his eyes.

Come on, lets go, Justin said, leading them to the first hole.

The game went by quickly for Justin.  He listened to Jon ramble again, while trying not to do better than his brothers on most holes.  He knew theyd feel great if they beat him.  He also helped Stephen because he was a little too young to know how to aim and shoot.  He usually just ended up smacking the ball, and it ended up in the water holes and sand pits many times.

Justin had a blast and he could tell that Jon and Stephen did too.  After golf, they were all hungry, so Justin brought them to Pizza Hut for lunch.  By then Jon had run out of stories to tell, so he began asking Justin about the tour.

Was it fun? he asked excitedly.

Yeah, it was lots of fun, Justin answered before taking a bite of his pizza.

Cool.  I watched you on TV, you know, Jon stated proudly.

Me too, me too! Stephen exclaimed.

Did you like it? Justin asked although he already knew the answer.

Yeah, silly, of course I did! Jon replied.

Me too! Stephen yelled again.  Justin just looked over and smiled at him.  Soon they were done their lunch and on their way home.  The ride there was pretty quiet since Jon had run out of stories and questions.

Thanks for bringing us golfing Justin, he said as they got out of the car.

Yeah, thanks! Stephen said happily.

Youre welcome, Justin replied.  I love you guys, he said, hugging them to his sides.

I love you too, Jon responded, a smile on his face.

Me too! Stephen chimed in.  Justin just laughed, happy to be home.

****

Lance and JC entered the bathroom together, and JC started the shower.  Then he turned around to face Lance and smiled.  He moved closer, leaning in until their lips connected.  He reached down to pull Lances shirt over his head and Lance did the same for him.  They smiled at each other before kissing again and ridding themselves of the rest of their clothes.

They stepped into the shower together, both under the spray.  They were both very aware of how close the other was, their bodies touching when either of them moved.  JC made the first move, turning Lance around so they were facing each other.  They kissed again, deeply and passionately.  The water running down their bodies as they kissed was just turning them on more.

Their already hard erections brushed together, and they both gasped.  Lance bravely reached down as they kissed and ran his hand along the length of JCs cock.  JC moaned into the kiss, pulling away to try to catch his breath.  Since his mouth was no longer occupied, Lance knelt down and took JCs cock into his mouth greedily.  JC moaned and bucked his hips, pushing his cock further into Lances mouth.  Lance took as much of JC in as he could, and then sucked hard, bringing JC to orgasm.  JC cried out as he came, and then collapsed against Lance when he stood.

That was amazing, baby, he breathed into Lances ear.

Well, good, Lance replied, still painfully hard.

Josh realized this and reached down to help Lance out.  With a few quick strokes, Lance came into his hand, kissing him hard.  They pulled away and washed each other up, aware that if they stayed in too much longer, Tyler would catch them.  And they didnt want that to happen.

Just then there was a banging on the door.

PART 35

I said its Justin, Joey repeated.

Yeah, I heard you, but what? Steve asked again, confused.

Im gay, Steve.  And Im in love with Justin, Joey said, starting to get up.  Im sorry if you cant accept that but-

Wait, Joe, Steve replied, pulling Joey back down to sit next to him on the ground.  I didnt say to leave yet.  And are you serious?

Very, Joey stated simply, praying that his brother didnt hate him.  But it didnt look too good.

Wow.  I never thought that youd be gay, Steve whispered.

Yeah, well, me neither.  But I am.  Is that not ok with you? Joey asked, his voice small and scared.

No, it is.  Im ok with you.  But Im just shocked, thats all, Steve told him.

What about Justin?  Are you ok with me being with him? Joey questioned.

Of course.  Justins a good guy.  I know I can trust him to take care of you, Steve replied, smiling at Joey.

So everythings ok? Joey asked.

Yeah, Steve responded, pulling Joey into a tight hug.  You know I love you, and nothing will ever come between us.  Just make sure that Justin doesnt take up *all* your time.

I think I can handle that, Joey replied with a laugh.

Love you bro, Steve said, standing up and offering Joey a hand.

Love you too, Joey responded as they walked into the house together.

****

Shit! Josh cursed loudly, shutting off the shower and frantically trying to dry off.  Lance just stared at him wide-eyed, still standing in the shower, dripping wet.

Josh? he whispered weakly.

Shit, Josh said again, realizing that theyd been caught.  He tried to think of an excuse that his brother would actually believe.

What do we do? Lance asked quietly, his eyes begging Josh for an answer to their dilemma.

I dont know, baby, Joey whispered loudly, throwing a towel to Lance and sitting on the toilet, his head in his hands.

Lance frowned.  This wasnt good.  There was another knock at the door and Lance looked over at Josh, who looked like he was going to cry.  I have an idea, Lance said softly, drying his hair off quickly.  He got dressed in record time, and then went to open the door, motioning to Josh to stand up before he did.

Lance opened the door and left the bathroom, smiling at Tyler when he did.  Hey man, whats up? he asked coolly.

Not much, Tyler replied, raising his eyebrow, wheres Josh?

In the bathroom.  I had to grab some things in there while he was taking his shower, Lance explained, praying that Tyler believed him.

Oh, all right. Tyler responded, apparently buying it.  JOSH! he yelled, hurry up!

Lance just smiled at Tyler as they both headed downstairs to wait for Josh.

****

Justin sat on his bed later that night, holding the cordless phone.  He felt silly for calling Joey already, but he just needed to hear his lovers voice.  He dialed and waited for Joey to answer.

Hello?

Joey?

No, this is Steve.  Is this Justin?

Yeah, hey Steve.  Is Joey there? Justin asked.

Sure, hold on.  Oh, and congrats by the way, Steve said quickly, and Justin heard him yell to Joey.

Congrats? Justin thought, for what?

Hey babe, Joey said, breaking Justin out of his thoughts.

Hey Joey, how are ya?

Id be better if you were here, Joey replied smoothly.

Justin laughed.  Yeah, Id be better too.  So whats up?

Steve knows, Joey said softly.

About us? Justin questioned, shocked.

Yeah.

Is he ok with us?

Yeah.  And I wasnt planning on telling him, but he bugged me about it, so I just told him.  Hes happy for us, Joey explained.

Ohh, so thats why he said congrats, Justin replied.

Yeah, Joey responded, and Justin could tell he was smiling.  So what did you do today?

I went mini-golfing with my brothers, Justin told Joey, smiling as he remembered how much fun hed had.

That sounds like fun, Joey commented.

Yeah, it was lots of fun.  Theyre so much fun to be around, Justin gushed, and Joey could hear the love in his voice.  Its going to be hard to leave them.

Its always hard, isnt it? Joey asked.

Yeah.  I miss you, Joe, Justin admitted.

I miss you too sweetie.  But theres only 3 more days until we see each other again, Joey reminded him.

I cant wait.

Me either.

I love you.

I love you more, Joey responded, smiling.

Fine, be that way, Justin said, and Joey could tell he was pouting.  And no, Im not pouting.

Dont lie, baby, I know you too well, Joey replied, laughing.

Justin sighed.  I should probably go now.  Ive had a long day.

Ok, sweetie, Ill give you a call tomorrow ok? Joey asked.

Sounds good.  Love you, Justin responded.

Love you too, baby.  Goodnight.

Goodnight.

Justin hung up the phone with a smile on his face.  He didnt think it was possible for him to love Joey any more than he did.  They were perfect together.  Now he just had to convince his whole family, besides Lisa, that he and Joey were for real.

****

That night, when Josh, his family, and Lance came to the table for dinner, Lance couldnt stop his hands form shaking.  He and Josh had planned to tell Joshs family during dinner.  He hoped Josh would bring it up because he wasnt sure he could without getting sick.

Josh gave him a reassuring smile as they served themselves the food that Karen had prepared.

Mmm, this is so good, mom, Josh said, chewing happily.  Lance couldnt believe that he could even eat.  Lance felt sick to his stomach.  Josh looked over at Lance an realized that he wasnt doing so well.

Now? Josh mouthed, and Lance just nodded weakly.  Josh smiled, and reached under the table to squeeze one of Lances hands.

Um, Lance and I have something we want to tell all of you, Josh announced, and Joshs parents, Tyler, and Heather all looked up from their food.

What is it honey? Karen asked.

Theres no easy or simple way to say this, so Im just going to come out and say it.  Im gay.  Lance is too.  Were dating, Josh explained simply.  Then he looked around the table for the reactions of his family members.  He could feel Lance shaking beside him.

Karen was the first to speak.  Wow, um, I never expected that, Josh.

Thats great, guys, Im happy for you, Heather commented, smiling.  She stood up and gave first Josh, and then Lance, a hug.

Thanks Heather, Josh said, thankful that one person had accepted them.

Lance, I dont see what you see in that dork over there, but its cool, Tyler joked with a smile on his face.

Lance let out a breath he didnt know hed been holding.  Tyler slapped Lance on the back and smiled at Josh before leaving the room, Heather following him.

Dad?  Mom? Josh asked desperately.

DONT, Roy almost yelled.

Dont what? Josh asked weakly.

Dont call me dad.  Im not longer your father if youre going to be like that, Roy shouted, standing up and leaving the room quickly.

Josh let the tears fall freely as Karen looked on sadly.  Im sorry, Josh.  You know how he feels about that.  I dont agree with what you two are doing, but as long as youre both happy.  With that said, Karen stood and pulled Josh into her arms, rubbing his back.

Lance sat frozen, not knowing what to do.  Karen smiled sadly at him.  Lance, why dont you help him upstairs to bed, Ill go try to talk to Roy, she suggested.

Ok, Lance replied, taking Joshs arm and leading him out of the dining room.

I love you, mom, Josh sobbed.

I love you too, baby.  Dont worry, it will all work out, Karen said sadly as she watched Lance help Josh upstairs.

PART 36

Lance brought Josh to his room, helping him change into pajamas, and laid him down on the bed.  Josh couldnt seem to stop crying.

Josh, baby, look at me, Lance said softly.

Josh looked over, a pained expression on his face.

I love you, sweetie.  Its going to be ok.  Youve got to believe that, Lance whispered, rubbing Joshs back.

My father hates me, Josh sobbed.

No, he doesnt hate you, honey, hell come around.  Im so sorry that happened, but Im here for you, ok? Lance told Josh.

K, Josh replied, sniffling.

I love you, Josh, Lance said, hating to see his baby so upset.

I love you too, Lance.  Could you just hold me? Josh asked.

Of course, Josh, of course I will.  Get some sleep sweetheart, Lance replied, praying that Roy didnt come in and seem them curled up together.
****

Justin woke up the next morning to someone poking him in the stomach.  Juuuuuuuuusssstin!

Hmmm? Justin mumbled, rubbing his eyes and then opening them to see Jon standing next to his bed.

The phones for you! Jon exclaimed, shoving the cordless phone at him.

Whos calling me so early, Justin grumbled, grabbing the phone and attempting to smile at his brother.  It was too damn early.  Hello?

Sorry for calling this early, Justin, but I have a problem.

Lance?

Yeah.

Whats wrong?

Well, last night Josh told his family that were together.

And Im guessing it didnt go well? Justin asked, already feeling horrible for his two best friends.

No, not really.  Heather and Tyler were really cool, and Karen was good about it, but Roy

Whatd he do? Justin demanded, going in to defense mode.  Hed call Roy up and scream at him if hed hurt Josh.

Justin, dont get worked up ok, thats not going to help anything.  Roy told Josh not to call him dad because he was no longer his father if we were together, Lance explained.

Holy shit! Justin exclaimed.

Yeah, exactly.  So Josh sobbed the entire night.  He had nightmares, so I stayed in his room.  I was so worried that Roy was going to come in and yell again, Lance told Justin.

God, Lance, Im so sorry that this had to happen.  I wish I could do something to help, Justin replied sadly.

Yeah, I wish I could do something too, but I dont know what.  This sucks completely.  And now I have a feeling were going to leave early.  Then were going to go to my house and tell my family.  Im so scared, Lance admitted.

Hey, Lance, dont worry too much, ok?  You know youll always have Josh, right?  He loves you so much, and you two just have to stay strong, and help each other through it.  Besides, Im sure your parents will accept you, Justin assured his friend.

How can you be so sure? Lance asked.

Well, I cant really, but I just wanted to make you feel better, Justin replied, giggling.

Thanks, Justin, for trying.  I guess I should go now, Josh is still sleeping and I dont want to wake him.  Say hi to Joey for us, ok?  And Ill call later and give you an update, Lance said.

Ok, sounds good.  Good luck, Lance.  You guys are so perfect for each other, and dont you ever forget that.

Thanks.  I needed to hear that.  Talk to you later, Lance responded.

Bye, Lance.

Bye.  Lance sighed.  Josh stirred on the bed next to him, and he rubbed Joshs back comfortingly, trying to will away any nightmares that might be haunting Joshs sleep.  He had no idea what he was going to do.

****

Joey sighed.  Hed just gotten off the phone with Justin.  It was only eight oclock, so hed known that something was wrong when Justin had called.  Hearing about how Joshs father had reacted was really hard for Joey.  He hated to have any of his friends hurting.  He didnt know what he could do to help.

The phone rang again, startling him.  Is Justin calling again?  Man, that boy just cant get enough of me.

Hey babe, he said, answering the phone.

Is that what youre calling me now?

Oh, shit, Liz!  I thought Justin was calling me back, Joey exclaimed, embarrassed.

Is this a bad time? Liz asked.

Nah, Justin just called, so I thought maybe he forgot to tell me something, Joey explained.

Oh, ok, Liz replied.  So whats up?

Not much, Joey told her.  My brother found out about Justin and I yesterday.

Is that good or bad? Liz asked, concerned.

Good.  He took it really well actually, Joey responded.

Thats cool.  Are you going to tell the rest of your family? Liz questioned.

Im not sure.  Justin and I decided to wait until after Christmas because we didnt want to ruin it, but I dont really think my family would have any problems with us being together, you know? Joey said.

Yeah, thats cool, Liz replied.

So whats up with you? Joey asked.

Im trying to come up with a plan, Liz told him, being very vague.

A plan for what? Joey questioned.

For you and Justin to come out, Liz said simply.

Oh, no, we cant do that, Joey replied immediately shooting down her idea.  Nsync would be over.

You have no faith in your fans.  You may lose some, but they arent true fans if they will only like you if youre straight, Liz responded.

Theres no way Justin would go along with this, Joey told her.

Yeah, Im trying to figure out some way. But anyway, Ill get back to you about that later.  Ive got to go.  Ill call you when I come up with something, ok? Liz asked.

Sure, talk to you later.

Bye.

Bye.  Joey hung up and thought about what Liz had said.  He and Justin couldnt come out to the world, could they?

****

When Josh woke up, he wasnt quite sure where he was.  He opened his eyes and smiled when he saw Lance sitting beside him.  But as he remembered what had happened the previous night, he frowned.  He just hoped his father would change his mind, that his mother had talked some sense into him.  He wasnt sure what hed do if Roy had really meant what hed said.

Lance? Josh asked, startling Lance out of the daze hed been in since hed hung up with Justin.

Yeah, babe? Lance asked, turning around.

Good morning, Josh said, smiling.  He sat up and scooted over so he was right next to Lance.

Mornin, Lance replied.  How do you feel?

All right actually.  Im hoping for the best, you know.  The hurt is there, but I just I dont know, I cant explain, Josh said.

Its ok, babe, you dont have to explain, Lance assured him.

Lance?

Yes sweetie?

I love you, thank you for being there.

I love you too, and you dont have to thank me.  I always want to be there for you, Lance told Josh.

Josh smiled and leaned in to kiss Lance softly.  Lance grinned as they separated.  Should we get up now?

Sure, might as well face them sooner than later, Josh agreed.

They both got out of bed and made their way downstairs and into the kitchen.  Joshs eyes widened when he saw Roy sitting at the kitchen table.

We need to talk, boys.
