| 2 WEEKS LATER - PRESS CONFERENCE The guys of *NSYNC we're waiting for Josh to come out of the bathroom, they had been there for 30 minutes and this was the 2nd time Josh had thrown up; Lance was worried, all the guys were. Josh came out of the bathroom and smiled at the guys, "Nerves and a pregnant man don't mix. I am so nervous I keep thinking I'm gonna throw up out there." Lance walked over and wrapped him in his arms, "I know how you feel, maybe not the throwing up thing but the nervous thing. This is huge we're telling the world we're in love, getting married and having a baby if you can do that without being nervous or scared, your superman or something. Josh no matter what happens I love you." Josh kissed Lance and said, "I love you too. Is it time yet?" "We have about 10 minutes 'til Johnny goes in there and does his thing, then it's us. C I'd just like to say that I am behind you guys 100%, but I haven't told my mom yet so you might wanna call her cuz I know she'll kill me if she finds out from the news." Justin said, handing Josh the phone. Josh took the phone and dialled Lynn's number. "Hello?" Lynn answered, her southern voice soothing Josh. "Hey Lynn, it's Josh." Josh said as he took Lance's hand and smiled at him. "Joshua! How are you boys? How's Lance? How's my baby? Not getting in too much trouble, I hope?" "Lynn we're fine. I have something to tell you, it's kinda big but I haven't got long to tell you, so is ok if it's quick?" "Sure sweetheart, you and Justin practically grew up together to me your my second son. So what's up?" "2 weeks ago I asked Lance to marry me and he said 'yes' we're getting married! I'm 9 weeks pregnant, and we're at a press conference at the minute where me and Lance are going to come out and tell the world we're getting married and having a baby." Josh took a breath, "So what's your thoughts?" "Sweetie I am happy for you, you and Lance are the perfect couple, and your having a baby so this means I'm going to be a grandma and your telling the world! I only have one question, why am I finding this out now?" "Well, um, I, er, Justin, um, we forgot to tell you, bet there has been a lot going on, me and Lance, the tour, we sorta forgot but I'm telling you now and if you put ABC, HBO, FOX, CNN or one of them on it should probably be on there, we're going out in about 5 minutes." "Ok good luck sweetie, I love you." Lynn uncharacteristically said which touched Josh tremendously. "I-I love you too Lynn." "Joshua could you put Justin on, please?" Josh smiled, Justin was about to get an earfull, "Sure Lynn." He pulled the phone away from his ear and held it out to Justin, "Your mom wants to talk to you J." Justin hesitantly took the phone and he walked off they could all her him say, timidly, "Mama?" "So are you guys ready?" Joey asked. "Ready as we'll ever be." Josh answered. "Boys, I'm going out there, when you hear me say 'the men of *NSYNC' come in, got it?" Johnny asked. "Got it." Josh answered. "Got it." Lance answered. "Sure I got it." Joey answered. "I'm gonna follow L and the 3 J's, so I sure got it." Chris answered making everyone laugh and relieving some of the nervous tension. "OK good luck boys." Johnny said before going in to the press room. "So this is it." Josh said squeezing Lance's hand. "Yeah it is, I am scared and nervous but I feel I have to do this, I want to do this." Lance said smiling at Josh before leaning in and kissing him tenderly. Then they heard, "...The men of *NSYNC." Lance and Josh broke apart and smiled at eachother, they turned to the other three and said, "Let's rock 'n roll." "Damn straight." Chris said. The others laughed and walked into the room where instantly flashbulbs went off, Justin sat down first then Lance, JC, Joey and finally Chris at the end. "Hello, me and Lance have something we want to tell the world, and we would appreciate it if you wouldn't say anything until we finish." Josh said. Lance took a deep breath gathering the courage he needed; Josh slipping his hand into his helped, he looked into the eyes of the man he loves and spoke, "I'm gay, and I'm in love with a wonderful man." Lance brought his and Josh's joined hands above the table and the reporters gasped. "I'm gay, and I'm in love with James Lance Bass, I have been since the day we met." Lance smiled, "I have loved Joshua since the first moment I saw him, but we have only been together for 3 years." "I'd like to say that we never meant to lie to the fans, the relationship was so new that we didn't want to chance it. We felt it was time to come out, we are tired of hiding and living a lie. My only hope is the fans can except us for who we are and still support *NSYNC. We are still the same 5 guys we've always been." Lance smiled at Josh before speaking, "We have something else to tell you, me and Josh are getting married." Lance held up his left hand and showed the sapphire and diamond encrusted ring, the reporters gasped again. "We are also having a baby, I'm pregnant. To explain there are only a few males in the world capable of bearing children and I'm one of them." Johnny stepped up to the mike and asked, "Any questions?" A barage of shouts and hands flew up. "You." Johnny said pointing to the reporter. "JC how far along are you?" The reporter asked. "I am 9 weeks pregnant." Josh answered. "When are you getting married?" "We haven't decided on a date yet, but sometime after the baby's born." Lance answered. "Are you cancelling the rest of the tour?" The guys were silent for a moment before Josh answered, "I am going to do as much of the tour as I can possibly do while pregnant. I think we are cancelling the last leg of the tour as I won't be able to perform that heavily pregnant, we apologize to the fans who miss out but once the baby's born you will get to see *NSYNC in concert." "Lance I have on good source that you we're asked to go into space, care to comment?" "I was asked but I'm not going. It was one of my childhood dreams but so was falling in love and having a family, I cannot and will not leave Josh for 6 months to train in Russia then spend months in space, while Josh is alone pregnant, I won't get to see him grow with my child and I won't get to see my child born. I would never miss something like that just to fulfill a dream." "That is all, thankyou for your time." Johnny said before the uncomfortable questions came, *NSYNC said there thankyou's and left, when they got out Lance and Jc hugged eachother and the other 3 put their arms around them and hugged them hard; showing their love and support. "Boys let's go back to the hotel." Johnny said. The guys broke apart and walked out, Lance and Josh held hands and smiled at eachother as they walked out. When they got in the car Josh's cellphone rang, "Here we go." Josh said before he answered the phone, "Hello?" "How could you do this to your family Joshua?" "Mother." Josh said with disgust, "I did nothing to your family, you stopped being my family when you disowned me." "You have disgraced our family Joshua, we never thought you would tell the world of your sin, you are an abomination in God's eye's..." "Don't bring Him into it, God made me the way I am. Don't ever call me again Karen I am not your son, you will never see your grandchild, to me his legal grandparents are Lynn and Paul they have never turned their backs on me, unlike you. If you try and come near me or my baby I will have a restraining order against you, I never want to see you again, goodbye," Josh said coldly as he hung up the phone. "Baby are you ok?" Lance asked. "I'm ok, she's not my mother, not anymore. Can we just go home, please." "Sure sweetie, I love you." "I love you too." Josh said as he snuggled against Lance for the drive back to the hotel, each knowing that they had done the right thing. |
