Muffin
Justin was worried.  Ok, he was way past worried.  He often worried about Josh his eating habits, how much time he spent in the studio alone but this was different.  Josh wasnt sleeping.  And for Josh, that was huge.

For the past week, Justin had woken up in the middle of the night to hear Josh rustling around.  Hed stayed silent each time, not wanting to startle Josh.  Hed tried talking to his lover, but Josh remained tight-lipped about what was going on.  Justin figured that if he watched Josh, he might be able to figure out what was wrong.

That night, at about two thirty, Justin awoke as he felt the warmth leaving his side.  He shivered as cool air hit him and then reminded himself to stay silent.  As his eyes adjusted to the darkness, he focused on Joshs form at the window.  He always stood at the window quietly staring out.  Justin found himself wondering what exactly Josh was looking at.

Josh turned around suddenly, his eyes moving to the bed.  Justin snapped his eyes shut as Joshs gaze landed on him, but he knew hed been caught.  Joshs eyes widened when he noticed that Justin had been staring at him, and he moved over to the bed.

Whats wrong Josh? Justin asked suddenly, startling them both.

No- Josh started, but Justin interrupted him.

And dont say nothing because I know something is wrong.  Youve been up every night for the past week, Justin said softly, reaching up to hold Joshs hand.  Please tell me whats bothering you, baby.

Youll hate me.

I could never hate you.

You could stop loving me.

Why are you even thinking that, Josh?  Please tell me what happened, Justin begged, pulling Josh down so he was sitting on the bed.

You didnt deny it.

I didnt think I had to.  Why are you doubting my love for you? Justin asked, hurt that Josh didnt believe him.

Josh heard the hurt in Justins voice and pulled away.  Oh, God, Justin, now I hurt you.  Im so sorry, Josh apologized, moving back to the window.

Justin stood, going to Josh and pulling him into his arms.  Tell me, he said simply.

I was I think are you cheating on me? Josh asked in a whisper, and Justin pulled back, completely shocked.

What?

Josh took his reaction as anger, and tears filled his eyes.  I told you youd hate me.

No.  I dont hate you.  Why would you say that, sweetie? Justin asked, searching Joshs eyes for an answer.

I just asked you if you were cheating on me, Josh reminded him sadly.  You arent mad?

No, Justin replied.  Im surprised, but not mad.  Im sorry you thought I was cheating on you.  The answer is no.  Id never do that to you.  I love you Josh, youre the only one I want.

I know that, I really do, but youve been distant lately, and I guess I just over-reacted, Josh explained.

Im sorry for pulling away.  I just find it hard to believe that Ive already found my soul mate, Justin said, smiling and pulling Josh into a hug.

God, Justin, I love you so much.

I love you too, muffin, Justin replied with a grin.

Muffin? Josh questioned, giggling.

Yeah, muffin, Justin confirmed.  What?  You dont like my nickname for you?

Josh just laughed.

Well, fine, laugh at me then, Justin pouted.

Baby, dont pout, Josh said, still giggling.  I love my new nickname.

You do?  I can really call you that? Justin asked.

Sure babe.  Call me whatever you want.

Justin smiled.  I love you, muffin.

I love you more, Josh responded, leaning in to kiss Justin softly.

Not possible, Justin replied with a grin.  So are you going to come back to bed now?

Yeah, I think Im going to sleep for days, Josh answered.

As long as I get a few kisses in between, Justin said.

Its a deal.

Muffin?

Yes?

Sweet dreams.

You too, Justin, you too.
