Meet Virginia
"Chris! Stay the hell away from my computer! I'll be right back!" yelled
Lance, jogging quickly to the back room of the bus.

He threw open the door and immediately started looking for his wallet, not noticing the other man in the room.

"Wallet, wallet, wallet, where the hell's my wallet," he mumbled, digging through his duffel. "Aha! Here it is!"

He ran to the door, but promptly stopped dead in his tracks. He looked behind him and did a double take. Justin was sprawled out upside-down on the small couch, his legs spread over the top and his curls a mere inch from the ground. He had a book held in front of his face, all though with all of the blood rushing to his head Lance wasn't too sure he was actually reading it. Lance cleared his throat, forcing himself to ignore the way Justin's shirt was rising up and exposing a good deal of tan skin.

"Uh, Justin?"

Justin lowered his book and smiled at him, cocking his head slightly. "Yes, Lance?" he asked.

"Um ... what are you doing?"

"I'm reading a book."

Lance nodded dumbly and blushed. "Oh, I see. Um, okay. Bye."

"Bye Lance." Justin gave a little wave and returned to reading his book.

Lance shut the door and leaned against it, wondering why his heart was
beating so fast all of a sudden.

~*~
When Lance came into the back room a few hours later, Chris, Joey and JC were all sitting on the couch, watching TV and occasionally glancing at Justin. The youngest member of the group was sitting on the floor, his legs spread again with a pile of green gummy bear things in front of him. He was humming softly and acted like no one else was in the room with him. Beside his left leg, there were several empty bags of something. Lance bent down and picked one up, his eyebrows shooting up in surprise.

"'N SYNC fruit snacks?" he questioned.

He got up and sat down on the couch beside JC.

"What's he doing?" whispered Lance, even though he was sure Justin could hear everything they were saying.

"I dunno," answered JC. "He's eaten like, twenty packages of those things. But he won't eat the green ones."

Lance was confused. "Why not?"

JC shrugged, and turned back to the TV, leaving Lance to his thoughts. He watched Justin pick up a plastic bag from beside him, scoop all of the green fruit snacks inside, and leave the room.

~*~
They were on the bus again, and Justin was singing; loudly. JC was sleeping, Chris and Joey were playing cards in the kitchen, Justin was in the shower, and Lance was standing outside of the door, listening to him sing.

"She doesn't own a dress, her hair is always a mess. If you catch her
stealin, she won't confess ... she's beautiful," sang Justin, perfectly on
key. "She never compromises, loves babies and surprises. Wears hi-heels when she exercises, ain't that beautiful? Meet Virginia..."

Lance jumped when the door opened suddenly. Justin was standing in the doorway, steam billowing out in clouds around him. He had on a towel around his waist and that was it. This time, Lance couldn't ignore the glow of his golden skin. His eyes followed a drop of water down Justin's neck, across his collarbone, around a nipple and down his chest, past his belly button and into the white towel that hung loosely around his slender hips.

Lance swallowed and met Justin's eyes. The blue was sparkling, and Lance could see rather than hear that Justin was still singing. All sound faded to the background as he watched those pick lips move, forming a perfect 'O' around each note. Lance was drooling.

Justin winked at him and kissed his ear, still singing as he walked away.
Lance blushed, wondering why he all of a sudden felt like a giddy school girl.

~*~
"Does anybody have any chapstick?" whined JC. "My lips are bone dry."

Justin looked up from his book, motioning to his duffle bag.

"I have some in the front pocket, C. Help yourself."

JC nodded and unzipped the front, his fingers coming in contact with a small tube. He pulled it out and looked at the front.

"What the hell?" he asked. "'N SYNC lip balm?"

Lance kept typing on his laptop, pretending he wasn't paying attention to anything besides the contracts in front of him.

Justin nodded. "Uh huh," he said. "I would suggest the blue, Lance balm. It's fantastic." He beamed at JC before dropping his gaze to his book.

JC looked wary as he applied the balm to his lips.

"Strange, strange boy."

~*~
Justin stuck his head into the back room, his eyes landing on Lance, who was just getting off of the phone with someone.

"Hey, Scoop, can I borrow your cell phone for a sec?"

Lance rubbed his eyes and stood up, cracking his back loudly. He yawned and scratched his neck.

"Yeah, sure, J. Go ahead."

Justin grinned and snatched Lance's phone from his outstretched hand, kissing Lance's cheek as he did so.

"Thanks babe," he chirped. "I owe ya one."

Lance thought he managed to mumble a soft "welcome" before his mind turned to mush.

~*~
Lance blinked quickly, his blurry eyes starting to focus on the room around him. He sighed when he recognized the back room of the tour bus. He checked his watch and saw that he had been asleep for about an hour. He shrugged and cracked his neck before standing up. He noticed a small piece of paper taped to his shirt, and he pulled it off.

'She doesn't own a dress,
her hair is always a mess
If you catch her stealin,
she won't confess
She's beautiful.

Thanks for always thinking that I'm beautiful.'

Lance shook his head and headed out of the room, wondering why those words sounded so familiar. As he passed Justin's bunk, he saw another note taped up.

'She only drinks coffee at Midnight,
when the moment is not right,
her timing is quite-unusual
you see her confidence is tragic,
but her intuition magic
and the shape of her body - unusual

I love the shape of your body. Unusual, and yet absolutely perfect. *You* are  the beautiful one.'

Lance smiled and looked up, his eyes falling on the note taped to his bunk.

'Well she wants to live her life
Then she thinks about her life
Pulls her hair back as she screams
I don't really wanna live this life

You are my sanity, Lance. You, and only you, are why I live this life.'

Lance opened up his bunk, smiling at the pile of gifts on his bed. There was a red rose lying on his pillow, a new package of 'N SYNC lip balm, and a large bag of green fruit chews with a note on them. Lance opened it up and read.

'I saw these 'N SYNC fruit snacks in a store, and I just had to buy them. Maybe to see what the big deal was. I saved all of the green ones -- the Lance fruit chews. They remind me of you. Sweet, but with just enough tart to keep you guessing. Hope you enjoy them.'

Lance grinned and popped a candy into his mouth, chewing softly as he laid back in his bunk.

~*~
When Lance entered the back room of the tour bus again, things were back to normal. JC was dozing on the floor, Chris and Joey were engrossed in a game of Mortal Combat, and Justin was upside down on the couch. When Lance sat by him however, he lowered the book.

"Do you understand?" he asked.

Lance nodded and held out his bag of green fruits chews.

"Want one?"

Justin grinned and grabbed a handful, his eyes never leaving Lance's.

"I'd love one."
