Justin's Decision
written by Lisa
Justin was sitting in his room, just finishing his rough draft for a song that he was writing. The song was about making decisions under pressure. You see, well he had to decide whom he was going to take to his senior prom. His candidates were Lisa, and Brandi. Both of intelligence and stature, he was interested in both of them. Making a list of pros and cons of taking each girl, he laid there with a gleam of hope in his eyes, wishing that this would help him with his decision. He was under a lot of stress trying to decide between the two. Justin was getting so stressed out that he was saying to himself, I bet even after I get to my solution, that girl will not want to go with me. Who would want to go to the prom with a loser like me. Then he got to thinking that maybe he was just stressed out and needed something to calm him down. Justin walked to the cabinet that held all of that medical good stuff. He grabbed some Tylenol, and was going to take his normal dose of three, but he had such a headache that he thought that he would take five of them. He was still wide-awake after about an hour. He figured that if it hadnt fazed him by then, that he was going to be ok. He went ahead and continued his list of pros and cons. After five minutes had passed, the phone rang. Justin answered the phone. The conversation lasted for about ten or fifteen minutes long. Hey Justin!, came from the voice on the other phone. Hey Lisa! Hows it going?, he replied with a smile coming across his face. Everything is going ok so far. Still havent found a date for the prom yet. I dont want to go to the prom by myself. Have you found a date yet? Nope. I am still working on it. I have the candidates down to two girls. These girls are very special to me in every and any which way possible. I love them so much that it hurts inside. They are my everything. Awww, how sweet! Well, why dont you just take both of them? If you love both of them that much, then do that. Naaa, I cant do that! I only want to take one and only to the prom, but I can take both of them to the Post-Prom. At the Prom, my attention needs to be given to one person only. Ok, I see your point now. Well what I called you for was to see if you got the homework assignment from Algebra II for tonight.?, Lisa asked. Yeah, I do. It is page number 159, and problem numbers #1-45 all. If you need help with it, call me back. I will be here for a while., Justin answered. Ok, thanks a mil, and make a will, with my name in it. HAHAHA!! No problem. Always helping friends. Talk to you tomorrow at school, buh bye. Ok, see ya laters! Buh bye! Love you, bye Love you too, bye. Justin went back to his list. He was listing everything pro he could, trying his best to stay away from the cons. He started to think about each girl individually, and thought very thoroughly about each pro and con. He started with Lisa. She was a very nice girl, always laughing and carrying on. Lisa was one of the girls that was smart, but didnt make a big deal over it. She never flaunted her intelligence like most of the girls at that high school did. Her interest consisted of art, music, and writing. She also loved sports, which was a plus for him. She only had one con, and that was being too shy. His next obstacle was Brandi. She was the funniest one out of the two. If you are feeling down she will bring you right back up with a laugh. Brandi had the same interest as Lisa did. Sports, well, she isnt really into as much as Lisa is. She only watched them if she thought that one or a couple of the players were good looking. Brandi would play some of the games if everyone was playing it, but other than those reasons, she didnt like sports. Her intelligence level was as high as Lisas, and she didnt flaunt it either. Not liking sports was Justins only con for Brandi. He sat and stared at the list, trying his best to figure out who he was going to take to Prom. Hmmm.who would be better to take to Prom. I can take both of them to Post Prom, but I can only take one of them to the regular Prom. They both have the same number of pros and cons. I guess are like sisters, because they a lot in common. They are always saying that they are sisters, but I didnt know how they came to that conclusion, until now. Man, I wish that I could take both of them to the Prom. Oh well, guess I will have to pick just one. Justin was thinking about making the decision by picturing each of them in his arms at the Prom. Who would look better with him, being formally dressed and acting mature at a big major end of the year party? All of a sudden the phone rang again and Justin answered it. Hey J! Hey Brandi!, he replied. So whatcha doin later on tonight? I was wanting to know if you wanted to go to the dance club with me and some of the gang tonight. Na, I think that I will stay right here. I have to finish my homework and work on my song for the band. Thanks anyway! Are you sure? I can help you with your homework when we get back. We wont be there that long. No, that is ok. Say hello to the gang for me. I know that I havent spent that much time with them with starting this band thing, you know. Ok, I will. Talk to you laters! Bye. Love you and PEACE AND HAIR GREASE!, Justin said. Love you to!, replied Brandi. Bye! Bye! They hang up and Justin goes back to his list. He still cant decide who he is going to take. It is about to drive me crazy trying to decide. I wish that I could just draw a name out of a hat and take that one to the Prom. I know that it wouldnt be fair to the other girl though. I may just decide to just stay home from the prom this year and take both of them to the Post-Prom. Justin starts to dose off to sleep and the phone rings again. Who could that be? It is probably Lisa wanting another homework assignment, or Brandi wanting me to go cruising with her. Oh well I enjoy talking to them, anyway. Hello! Hey, you are just the person I wanted to talk to., smiled Justin. Yeah, well I you are the person that I called to talk to you to. I have a question for you. I have a question for you to. You go first. No, you go first. No, you go first. I insist. Ok, do you have a date for the Prom yet? I dont and I need one. No, that is what I was going to ask you to. Ok we have the date thing straightened out, but where do you want to go for dinner? I was thinking about Illusions. Is that ok with you? Sure I was thinking the same place. So do you want me to pick you up or do you want to pick me up? It doesnt matter to me. I can pick you up. I will be there about 4:30, is that a good time., Jusitn asked. Sure that is ok. Well, I will see you next Saturday at 4:30 if not sooner. Ok, talk to you laters, Bye! Bye, PEACE AND HAIR GREASE!, Love you! Ok, OUTS! Love you too!, blushed JC. THE END
