THEN:
-Released Kill em All in 1983,a thrash materpiece.Followed that in 84 with Ride the Lightning, and Master of Puppets in 1986.These albums were full of tight fast thrashy riffs.great vocals, and Kirk Hammet's brilliant guitar solos. These are perhaps the three greatest metal albums ever
-One of the "Founding Fathers" of thrash metal. They burst onto the scene in the early 80's with a style and sound all their own.Sporting long hair ,jeans and t-shirts,and assaulting eardrums everywhere, they quickly gained a following. They toured extensively with anyone they can,and often condoned bootlegging their live concerts to get them a name.
NOW:
-with the 1991 release of Metallica, they finally gained some commercial notoriety.Mtv constantly played their videos and radio started playing them.Sadly this marked the end of their "glory days".
-They released their album Load in 1997,their weakest album ever. They cut off all their hair, started wearing makeup, and put out a commercial, radio friendly albbum of hard rock(they arent even metal anymore).Reload was more of the same. What happened to the blistering metal riffs and tight arrangements of their early years? Its gone forever. They are recycling riffs, and stealing songs.THEY HAVE SOLD OUT!!!!!.
-They are going after Napster, the greatest music sharing program ever.Napster is helping to promote musicians everywhere by letting fans hear the music, and buying the cds if they like it.Their lawyers are banning Napster users for downloading Metallica songs.GET A LIFE WILL YA!!!In the early years ,Metallica promoted the trading of their music, but now that they are rich, ignorant assholes, its "copyright infringement"HYPOCRITES.I will never buy another Metallica album,go to another Metallica show,or buy any of their merchandise.I know I am not the only one who feels this way.Give it up guys, your glory days are long behind you.
