I have just now found the time to stop by and visit your, ah, interesting page. You have obviously spent a lot of time on your pages. I read your "Home Alone Pizza Incident Page" and was surprised to find such an in-depth synopsis of that particular movie scene. I remember seeing that movie in November of 1990 and thinking that the big brother was kind of a jerk. Most older siblings are. My older sister is 7 years older than me and while we get along wonderfully now, we did fight dreadfully while growing up. The way I look at it, the scene was purposely dramatic and pushed the envelope a bit to set up the rest of the movie and make the audience feel sympathy for the main character. After all, he did get his revenge on the older brother by destroying his room and losing his pet tarantula, he got to spend time alone in the house without anyone bothering him, and he even ordered his very own cheese pizza. These all required the original pizza scene to "set the stage" and make the movie flow smoothly and comically. After all, it is only a movie. Thank you again for visiting my page. |
